Tourists to Ho Chi Minh City and Da Lat increase

According to the announcement on September 3 by the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Tourism, international visitors to the city during the September 2 holiday this year reached about 38,800, an increase of 3.2% over the same period in 2023. Guests staying at the facilities reached about 214,630, an increase of 32.5% over the same period last year.

Room occupancy reached about 85% (up 6.3%). Visitors to tourist and entertainment areas reached about 980,000 (up 2%). Domestic tourists to Ho Chi Minh City reached about 425,000, up 1.2% over the same period in 2023.

Tourism revenue in the city on September 2 this year reached VND 2,940 billion, an increase of 1.7% over the same period in 2023.

This result was achieved thanks to the diversification of inner-city tourism products and destinations in the city, including the "Program to visit the National Architectural and Artistic Relics of the Headquarters of the People's Council and People's Committee of Ho Chi Minh City" implemented by the Department in coordination with the Office of the People's Committee of Ho Chi Minh City and related departments and branches, welcoming more than 1,800 domestic and international visitors.

In addition, the network of travel and tourism companies continues to deploy a series of attractive tourism products in Ho Chi Minh City associated with typical tourism products of Thu Duc city and 21 districts/counties, tours connecting neighboring localities, traditional tours... creating attraction for residents and tourists.

A representative of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Tourism said that the long September 2nd holiday this year is the basis for the tourism industry to increase the number of visitors. The main target group of tourists during this holiday is mostly family groups, groups of young people, or middle-aged people who have not arranged time for summer travel, most of them travel domestically.

In addition, the activities of tourist accommodation establishments and service establishments that meet the standards for serving tourists have improved. The restaurant and hotel business community has introduced many promotional programs and incentives for tourists.

In Da Lat (Lam Dong), according to statistics from the People's Committee of Da Lat city, the number of tourists visiting and relaxing here this time is estimated at about 100,000, an increase of 11% over the same period in 2023. Of which, international visitors are estimated at 7,200, an increase of 14% over the same period in 2023.

It is noted that during this year's holiday, the weather in Da Lat was not favorable, with continuous rain. Therefore, some outdoor entertainment activities encountered many difficulties, reducing the attractiveness of Da Lat to tourists.

To serve the entertainment activities of tourists, on September 1-2, the People's Committee of Da Lat city also coordinated with the organizing units of the Da Lat Music Festival - "Dalat Color fun festival 2024" at Lam Vien Square. The program had the participation of many famous stars and artists, so it attracted tens of thousands of audiences, both locals and tourists, to enjoy despite the bad weather.

Sa Pa cultural identity attracts tourists

Compared to other tourist destinations nationwide, Sa Pa is one of the tourist destinations that welcomes many tourists to visit during the National Day holiday on September 2nd because of the beautiful weather and the ripening rice terraces. Tourist destinations have prepared well for the conditions and effectively exploited the cultural and natural values ​​of Sa Pa, thus creating a highlight to attract visitors.

According to the Department of Culture and Information of Sa Pa town, Lao Cai province, during the 4-day National Day holiday on September 2, the number of visitors to Sa Pa National Tourist Area reached nearly 123,000, an increase of about 34,000 over the same period in 2023; total revenue from tourists to Sa Pa reached nearly 420 billion VND, an increase of 93 billion VND compared to 2023.

According to the Department of Culture and Information of Sa Pa town, security and order were well maintained. During the holiday, there were no cases reported to the hotline.

Passenger transport activities are still operating normally. However, during peak days, there has been price gouging for services (motorbike taxis, taxis, electric cars). In addition, local traffic congestion still occurs at some key intersections in the town.

The 2024 Sa Pa Autumn Festival will be held with 11 events. Of which, 5 events held during the September 2 holiday have attracted a large number of tourists to visit and experience such as: Sa Pa Music Night welcoming autumn; "Fairy tale Muong Hoa" Circus performance; Mong village cultural festival; Ban May golden season festival.

The series of events has brought visitors impressive and unique experiences when coming to Sa Pa.
