Recently, salt coffee has suddenly become a popular drink among young people in Hanoi, despite its high price, around 40,000 - 65,000 VND/cup at branded shops.
A stall selling this hot drink near Thong Nhat Park (Hanoi) has a sign outside advertising "Salt coffee for 15k" which has recently attracted many young people to come and enjoy.
Despite the heat, dozens of people stood in line waiting their turn.
According to the owner, this is a hot pot and grill business in the afternoon and evening. Because they have free time in the morning, they research and sell more drinks to increase revenue.
In just a few short hours in the morning, the number of coffees sold had reached several hundred cups.
Yen Nhi (customer) shared: "I find the coffee here not very special in flavor but reasonable because the price is cheap. I passed by on my way to work in the morning, so I stopped by to buy it. It only took me 10 minutes to queue up and get a drink."
Since there is no seating at the shop, customers buy take-out. This inconvenience does not reduce the number of customers who buy the new drink partly out of curiosity.
Shared quite widely and almost becoming a "phenomenon", a large number of customers stopped by to taste the taste of salt coffee.
Many people also believe that thanks to the smart way of doing salt coffee business, the hot pot restaurant can maintain its operations and become known to many people.
Salt coffee is a drink made from coffee, condensed milk, fermented fresh milk and refined salt, first appearing in Hue. The saltiness of the salt seems to have nothing to do with the cup of coffee, but in fact it highlights the strong flavor, moderates the bitterness of the coffee and enhances the sweet aroma of the milk. This flavor is said to be the special recipe of a garden cafe located on Nguyen Luong Bang Street. Until now, many people still do not have much information about the real origin as well as the inspiration for creating this unique coffee recipe. |
