Explosive music night of “The Wall” in Berlin

The vibrant, explosive songs of the band The Wall not only bring the audience back to their memories but also make those living far away feel their love for their homeland.

On the night of June 22, more than 800 fans of the band The Wall, from young to old, flocked to Dong Xuan Trade Center in Berlin to watch the first show of the Vietnamese rock band, which once "made waves" and was associated with the lives of many generations of students in the 1990s and 2000s.

The vibrant, explosive songs not only bring the audience back to their memories but also make those living far away feel their love for their homeland.

The 2-hour concert will recreate 30 years of The Wall's musical journey, through hits such as "Black Eyes," "Soul of Stone," "Road to Glorious Days," "Glass Rose" ...

The artists participating include guitarists Tran Tuan Hung and Vu Van Ha, bassist Tang Xuan Kien, drummer Pham Trung Hieu, and two main vocalists Pham Anh Khoa and Duong Tran Nghia.

To have such an explosive music night, the artists and the organizers came up with the idea and practiced for two months. The crew worked hard to ensure the technical aspects, sound, and lighting according to the group's requirements. Leader and guitarist Tran Tuan Hung was excited because this was an opportunity to convey the spirit of Vietnamese rock to overseas Vietnamese. He shared: "When the music plays, we hope the audience will feel the connection with their homeland."

Buc Tuong was born in 1995 and is considered a "rock legend" in the country. To date, they have released 7 studio albums including "Soul of Stone" (2001), "Invisible" (2003), "Magnet" (2004), "Other Days" (2010), "Dat Viet" (2014), "Balance" (2023).

In the 1990s and 2000s, the band was associated with the lives of many generations of students through familiar songs such as "Duong den ngay vinh quang", Bong hong thuy tinh", Mat den". In 2014, with the album Dat Viet, they experimented with singing "stories about Vietnamese people since the beginning of time." The band has many times combined strong rock with folk sounds, through songs such as "Hoa ban trang" and "Men say."

The success of Buc Tuong was honored by Billboard Magazine (USA) in 2021, praising the group as "a pioneer, rich in humanity and opening a new wave of rock for Vietnam."

That humane journey has left deep feelings in the hearts of the public, not only domestic audiences but also Vietnamese people living far away from home.

In 2016, fans were saddened when Tran Lap - who contributed greatly to shaping the musical style and image of Buc Tuong - passed away. He composed many songs and was the main vocalist of the group. After this incident, they decided to continue their activities, with guitarist Tran Tuan Hung as the leader.

Vietnamese Ambassador to the Federal Republic of Germany Vu Quang Minh, in his speech, expressed his feelings: “This year, we celebrate the 35th anniversary of German reunification and the 50th anniversary of Vietnam's reunification.

There is no more meaningful time and place for Buc Tuong - the legendary Vietnamese band - to sing in Berlin, where the once dividing wall has been torn down, so that new walls of love, solidarity and music can be built"./.
