Ministry of Finance launches the program "Artificial Intelligence for the community"

The "Artificial Intelligence for the Community" program is an accessible online course that helps people grasp the basics of AI, thereby creating a solid foundation for developing digital skills.

On April 2, the National Innovation Center (NIC), the Ministry of Finance, in collaboration with Intel Corporation, launched the program "Artificial Intelligence for the Community" (AI for all).

The program is deployed to popularize, convey knowledge and raise awareness about artificial intelligence in accordance with Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW dated December 22, 2024 of the Politburo (on breakthroughs in science and technology development, innovation and national digital transformation) and at the same time strongly respond to the "Digital Education for All" movement under the direction of General Secretary To Lam and launched by Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh on March 26.

Specifically, Deputy Minister of Finance Nguyen Thi Bich Ngoc said that the implementation of the program aims to immediately meet the need to popularize knowledge and improve the application skills of artificial intelligence of administrative agencies, socio-political organizations, businesses and people. According to her, in the context of AI technology developing rapidly, popularizing basic knowledge about artificial intelligence to the entire population in the most understandable way, according to international standards is a particularly important and urgent requirement today.

In addition, Deputy Minister Nguyen Thi Bich Ngoc highly appreciated the initiative and commitment of the Vietnam Association of Small and Medium Enterprises, the Vietnam Association of Administrative Science, the Academy of Posts and Telecommunications Technology, research institutes, universities, domestic and foreign organizations and enterprises in widely spreading this meaningful program to people across the country.

The “Artificial Intelligence for the Community” initiative is a nationwide self-learning program for all Vietnamese citizens, from students, office workers, parents, to the elderly, so that each individual can adapt to a world where AI is increasingly popular, as well as equip themselves with the necessary skills for workforce and social development.

Ms. Sarah Kemp, Vice President of International Government Affairs, Intel Corporation, shared that AI is reshaping the way we work, live and innovate. Accordingly, the “AI for the Community” program aims to promote the application of AI while meeting the Government’s priority in equipping people with the appropriate capabilities to develop in the AI ​​era. By creating opportunities for people to access AI knowledge, the program not only prepares each individual to enter the future labor market, but also fosters an environment of continuous learning and innovation, contributing to the development of Vietnam’s digital economy.

The “Artificial Intelligence for the Community” program is divided into two main parts, the first is AI Aware, which covers the basic principles, practical applications, and common misconceptions about AI. The second is AI Appreciate, which provides deeper understanding of AI ethics, how to use AI responsibly, and its impact in many fields.

Aiming to be engaging and interactive, the AI ​​for the Community program will award digital badges to users who complete the four-hour course. The course will provide materials for those who want to improve their knowledge of AI with the AI ​​for the Community curriculum in English and Vietnamese. In addition, the program is also designed to be accessible to people with special needs, ensuring that all citizens can learn and keep up with the country’s digital transformation journey./.
