Binh Lieu: Speed up the resolution of petitions, create trust for the people

Việt NamViệt Nam03/01/2025

Over the years, Binh Lieu district has always paid attention to resolving voters' petitions, thereby contributing to improving the effectiveness and efficiency of state management, protecting the legitimate rights and interests of voters and people.

The 3km long road from Na Ech village to Thong Chau (Huc Dong commune) has been invested in a lighting system.

Previously, due to the lack of an internal canal system, rice production by many households in Khe Tien village (Dong Van commune, Binh Lieu district) encountered difficulties, especially in the process of bringing water into the fields to prepare the soil before sowing, or draining water during long periods of heavy rain and flooding. Party cell secretary and Khe Tien village head Duong Phuc Thim said: To ensure the sowing season, many households had to stay up all night, take turns waiting, and spend a lot of time and effort to bring water to the fields for plowing. However, many times the lower field had finished sowing, but the upper field had not yet finished preparing the soil.

Based on voters' recommendations, Binh Lieu district has reviewed, planned and in the fourth quarter of 2024, a canal with a length of nearly 1km has been invested in solidifying and put into use, helping people to be more proactive in getting water for agricultural production and flood prevention. Thereby improving productivity, crop output, and increasing economic efficiency for households.

In Huc Dong commune, following voters' recommendations, in 2024 the district directed the electricity sector to invest in building a lighting system for the inter-village road Na Ech - Thong Chau, more than 3km long, creating conditions for people to travel at night, while contributing to maintaining local security and order. Mr. Cao Xuan Quoc (Na Ech village) said: Previously, people's travel at night always had the potential risk of accidents because there were no street lights. Since the government paid attention and invested in the street lighting system, people have been very excited, not only traveling conveniently and safely, but businesses along both sides of the road like my family's have also been doing business more conveniently.

The canal in Khe Tien village (Dong Van commune) was reinforced according to voters' recommendations.

In 2024, through synthesis, the District People's Council sent to the District People's Committee 78 recommendations from voters, most of which were related to the field of people's livelihood, such as: Proposal to invest in solidifying canals, building speed bumps, supporting funding sources to complete the targets and criteria for building advanced new rural areas, installing lighting, repairing clean water pipes, supplying domestic water... In addition, there are a number of recommendations related to the issuance of land use right certificates to households that have built houses under housing support programs, recommendations to speed up the issuance of red books for agricultural land, forestry land, residential land for households...

In order to thoroughly and promptly resolve and meet the expectations of voters, the Standing Committee of the District People's Council has issued a document assigning agencies and units to preside over and coordinate the resolution according to their authority; directing committees, groups and delegates of the District People's Council to regularly supervise branches, agencies and units in resolving voters' opinions and recommendations. At regular meetings of the District People's Committee, the Standing Committee of the District People's Council also regularly urges the District People's Committee to direct branches, agencies and units to pay attention to considering and resolving voters' recommendations and report the results to the District People's Council meetings. Thanks to that, the direction and resolution of voters' recommendations have been implemented by the District People's Committee, agencies, units and People's Committees of communes and towns.

To date, 78/78 voters' petitions have been recorded, received, considered, resolved and responded to by the District People's Committee. Of these, many petitions have been resolved and are being effective, contributing to production and meeting people's needs. According to Vice Chairwoman of Binh Lieu District People's Council Loan Thi Cong, due to the large workload in 2024, agencies and units still have to focus time and human resources to overcome the consequences of storm No. 3, so the arrangement of time to consider and resolve voters' petitions has also been affected.

Currently, the Standing Committee of the District People's Council is requesting the District People's Committee to continue directing the relevant agencies to thoroughly resolve the remaining recommendations of voters, such as: Dismantling the old unused transformer station of the electricity sector in Pac Lieng village (Binh Lieu town); consolidating the Ta Phap canal system to provide water for production for the people of Luc Hon and Dong Tam communes; relaying telephone signals to the people of Keo Chan village (Dong Tam commune)... Requesting the District People's Committee to soon coordinate with the Tien Yen district People's Committee to resolve the situation of people in Dai Duc commune planting trees and exploiting pine resin within the administrative boundary of Na Luong village (Vo Ngai commune, Binh Lieu district).
