On the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025), on April 24, Binh Lieu district held a meeting to honor 220 outstanding veterans representing 280 veterans who participated in the resistance war against the US to save the country in the district.
At the meeting, the delegates reviewed the glorious revolutionary tradition, the heroic years of fighting and the noble sacrifices of generations of cadres, soldiers and people in the resistance war against the US to save the country. During the resistance war against the US, Binh Lieu district had nearly 1,000 children volunteering to fight the US, including 57 people who fought heroically and sacrificed on all battlefields, 18 wounded soldiers, 14 sick soldiers, 21 victims of Agent Orange, 6 mothers were posthumously awarded the title of Heroic Vietnamese Mothers, 2 cadres and soldiers were awarded the title of Brave American Destroyer. The people and armed forces of Binh Lieu and 4 units were awarded the title of Hero of the People's Armed Forces. Continuing to promote the revolutionary tradition, in the renovation process, veterans have contributed to building their homeland together with the Party Committee and people, achieving many achievements in socio-economics, national defense and security.
At the meeting, the leaders of Binh Lieu district expressed their deep gratitude for the great contributions of the veterans in the struggle for national liberation; affirmed that the Party Committee, government and people of the district always remember, respect and be grateful to those who have contributed to the revolution. At the same time, they hope that in the coming time, with their courage, responsibility and prestige, the veterans will continue to accompany the Party Committee, government and people in carrying out the common tasks of the locality, overcoming all difficulties and challenges, achieving even better results.
