Red sea of people, Hanoi does not sleep to celebrate U23 winning Southeast Asian championship

(Dan Tri) - Hanoi was resplendent on the night of victory, when thousands of red flags with yellow stars fluttered all over the streets. People stayed up all night, joining in the joyful atmosphere to celebrate the victory of U23 Vietnam.

Immediately after U23 Vietnam defeated U23 Indonesia in the final match of the 2025 Southeast Asian U23 Championship, thousands of fans poured into the central streets of Hanoi , joyfully celebrating the championship with coach Kim Sang-sik and his team.

According to Dan Tri reporter's report at 11pm on July 29, the Hoan Kiem Lake walking street area was bright in red and yellow stars, packed with people and vehicles.

Even though it was a new day, the streets of central Hanoi were still bustling like a festival. From adults to children, everyone took to the streets cheering, waving flags, beating drums and singing loudly to celebrate the victory of U23 Vietnam.

From simple trumpets, homemade drums, to even family trays and pots, they were all brought out and banged loudly, all joining in the enthusiastic atmosphere of victory.

Ngo Thi Thu Huong (far right) and her group of friends did not mind the late night, joining the crowd of people flocking to Hoan Kiem Lake area to share the joy of the brilliant victory of U23 Vietnam.

“I feel extremely happy and proud of the victory of U23 Vietnam. I love football and always cheer for the team, especially in memorable moments like this," Huong shared.

High fives and congratulatory smiles between strangers suddenly become familiar, erasing all distances.

The atmosphere of victory spread strongly, attracting even foreign tourists walking around the area to stop, wave and smile.

Faced with the ever-increasing flow of people and vehicles, the police force was reinforced on central streets to direct and regulate traffic. Roadblocks were set up, along with the smooth coordination of traffic police and public order forces, to ensure safety, avoid congestion and minimize the impact on people's lives on the night of victory celebration.

At 0:30 on July 30, many streets in the center of Hanoi were still bright red, with long lines of people cheering loudly and waving high the national flag.

This championship marks a historic hat-trick with U23 Vietnam crowned regional champions for three consecutive times, affirming the dominant position of coach Kim Sang-sik and his team in the Southeast Asian arena.
