Joint Stock Commercial Bank for Investment and Development of Vietnam (BIDV) was honored with two awards: “Best Issuer for Sustainable Finance in Vietnam 2025” and “Best Sustainable Bond in Vietnam 2025”.

This is the second consecutive time BIDV has received an award in the sustainable finance category of The Asset Magazine . The award is a recognition of BIDV's efforts in implementing the goal of sustainable development in its business strategy for the period 2021 - 2025, with a vision to 2030, while affirming BIDV's leading position in Vietnam in sustainable finance.

With the successful issuance of VND3,000 billion of sustainable bonds in compliance with the International Capital Market Association (ICMA) sustainable bond guidelines in August 2024, BIDV continues to maintain its position as the leading ESG bond issuer in the market.

The capital raised from the issuance is committed by the bank to be used for lending to customers/projects in industries/professions that bring positive impacts to the environment and society, including renewable energy, clean energy, green buildings, low-carbon production and consumption industries, climate change adaptation, social housing, community health care services, etc.

The criteria for evaluating and selecting projects are specified in BIDV's Sustainable Bond Framework issued on August 16, 2024. Previously, in 2023, BIDV was also the first Vietnamese commercial bank to successfully issue VND 2,500 billion in green bonds. Through two consecutive issuances of green bonds and sustainable bonds in two consecutive years with a total successful offering value of VND 5,500 billion (equivalent to USD 220 million), along with the success of the green deposit product with more than VND 5,000 billion in balance, BIDV reaffirms its goal of becoming a "Green Bank", making an important contribution to the national sustainable development strategy.

Not only is BIDV a pioneer in deploying innovative and sustainable financial products, it also plays a key role in forming and developing the domestic bond market. BIDV is currently the leading financial institution in bond issuance, with a total issuance scale from 2018 to present reaching nearly VND 137,000 billion. In addition, by the end of 2024, BIDV's total outstanding green credit will reach more than VND 75,000 billion, accounting for 12% of the total outstanding green credit of the entire banking industry.
