Previously, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism decided to allow the My Son Cultural Heritage Management Board to coordinate with the Institute of Archaeology to explore and excavate archaeologically in the area between tower K and the central tower group within the My Son Temple Complex.

The exploration and excavation period starts from July to the end of November. The exploration and excavation area permitted by the decision is 770m2 .

The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism requires that during archaeological exploration and excavation, licensed agencies must pay attention to protecting the stratigraphy of the relic; and propagate to the people about protecting local cultural heritage.

In particular, do not publish official conclusions without the agreement of the competent authority and the Department of Cultural Heritage.

The My Son Cultural Heritage Management Board and other units must be responsible for preserving and maintaining artifacts collected during archaeological exploration and excavation; and for avoiding damage or loss of artifacts.

At the same time, report to the Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism to grasp the plan to protect and promote the value of the artifacts.

My Son temple complex is located in a valley surrounded by hills, in Duy Phu commune, Duy Xuyen district, Quang Nam province (now Da Nang city).

This is where more than 70 temples and towers are kept, along with more than 30 inscriptions dating from the 7th to the 13th centuries. These documents are the best evidence to study the development of Cham culture and art.

In December 1999, UNESCO recognized My Son Relic Site as a World Cultural Heritage.

Over the past decades, domestic and foreign archaeologists and experts have worked hard to restore this ancient relic for sightseeing and cultural exploration.

During the restoration and excavation process, the units also discovered many valuable artifacts. Some artifacts are classified as national treasures and are specially protected.
