Handing over the monkey to Vu Quang National Park

(Baohatinh.vn) - Vu Quang National Park (Ha Tinh) has just received a monkey handed over by people in Gia Hanh commune to release back into the natural environment.

Can Loc Forest Protection Department coordinated with Gia Hanh Commune People's Committee and the family of Mr. Nguyen Tung Lam, residing in Dai Ban village, Gia Hanh commune, to hand over a monkey, scientifically named Macaca assamensis, belonging to group IIB, the list of endangered and rare forest animals, to Vu Quang National Park.

On the afternoon of August 20, Can Loc Forest Protection Department, Gia Hanh Commune People's Committee and Mr. Nguyen Tung Lam's family organized the handover of the monkey to Vu Quang National Park.

A 12 kg monkey was discovered by Mr. Lam in his garden a few days ago. Identifying this as a rare and endangered wild animal, Mr. Lam's family notified the local authorities to hand it over to the authorities for reception and care.

The monkey belongs to group IIB, the list of endangered and rare forest animals.

After receiving it, Can Loc Forest Protection Department handed over the monkey to Vu Quang National Park for further monitoring and care before releasing it back into the natural environment.
