The Gunners have never won Europe's premier competition, and the semi-final first leg against PSG marks their first appearance at this stage since 2009, and only the third time in the club's history.
"Everyone feels the importance of the match, because there are many people who have worked at the club for a long time, but have never experienced this moment. It is rare and precious," coach Arteta shared in a press conference before the match. "This is the top tournament in Europe. Arsenal have never won it, so we have to try to get to the final."
Asked how Arsenal will turn their desire to make history into motivation on the pitch against PSG, Arteta said: "We have worked hard to get here, with hard work, enthusiasm and overcoming many challenges over the past 10 months. History is very close. We will put all our efforts into making it happen."

Arsenal will be without midfielder Thomas Partey, who is suspended following a yellow card he received in the second leg of the quarter-final against Real Madrid at the Santiago Bernabeu. This was a rare minus on a glorious evening in which Arsenal defeated the defending champions 2-1 away from home to advance 5-1 on aggregate.
Coach Arteta said the team was inspired by the achievement in Madrid: "I think playing at the Bernabeu is the biggest test a European team can go through - because of the history, the achievements and many factors of the defending champions.
"We controlled that match very well. That brought confidence and experience to the whole team before the confrontation with PSG," coach Arteta emphasized.
