These days, the number of customers coming to the counter and withdrawing money at ATMs of the Joint Stock Commercial Bank for Foreign Trade - Thanh Hoa Branch (Vietcombank Thanh Hoa) has doubled. The bank has arranged staff to work overtime to meet people's transaction requests to avoid network congestion or transaction interruptions. In addition, the bank has also increased support for individual customers to complete biometric updates so that electronic payment transactions can proceed smoothly.
Vietcombank Thanh Hoa Deputy Director Pham Thi Thao said: The bank has made careful preparations to serve the needs of the people before, during and after the Lunar New Year, including transactions at the counter as well as maintenance of the entire ATM system; regularly monitoring the fund to meet the needs of the people. At the transaction points, the bank has also assigned staff to open on weekdays until 6:30 p.m. and on duty on the 2 weekends to ensure 100% of customers' payment activities are circulated.
As one of the banks with a widespread operating system throughout the province with 3 type I branches, 31 type II branches, 34 transaction offices, 2 mobile transaction points with specialized cars, 88 ATMs/CDMs, 495 POS machines. To ensure smooth operations and meet people's financial needs, Agribank branches in the province have proactively developed daily cash collection and disbursement plans, balancing the denomination structure for customers according to the regulations of the State Bank and in accordance with the reality of each unit. At the same time, focusing on investing in technology, regularly updating new features, safety, security, strengthening infrastructure, human resources... The bank also launched a series of attractive incentives during the Lunar New Year to encourage people to make transactions.
Along with efforts to implement solutions to ensure customers' transactions are quick and convenient, credit institutions also focus on promoting and warning customers about the security of personal information and being vigilant against sophisticated fraud in non-cash transactions. With a system of 342 ATMs and more than 4,000 bank card payment machines (POS) at retail establishments, distribution chains, hotels, restaurants, etc., commercial banks have developed plans to prepare resources and promptly take appropriate measures to ensure that the system of automatic withdrawal and deposit machines operates smoothly, stably and safely 24/7. When detecting fraudulent transactions in accounts and cards or having concerns or problems, it is necessary to immediately contact the bank's branch system and transaction offices for timely handling. Thereby, not only meeting people's needs, but also ensuring monetary security, promoting local socio-economy.
Director of the State Bank of Thanh Hoa Tong Van Anh said: The State Bank of Thanh Hoa has promptly issued a document directing credit institutions to effectively implement the work of regulating, circulating and supplying cash in the area. Accordingly, the State Bank of Thanh Hoa directed banks in the province to base on the transaction turnover of each machine, salary payment plan, characteristics of each machine location to have a plan to provide enough funds for ATM/CRM to serve the demand for cash withdrawal; use applications to monitor, supervise and handle incidents when they arise. On that basis, banks have proactively implemented many synchronous solutions to meet the cash needs of individuals and businesses. At the same time, focusing on treasury safety, strengthening security teams, improving the capacity to handle security and safety situations of officers and employees at transaction points.
In addition, the State Bank of Thanh Hoa will also strengthen inspection, examination and supervision of the operations of credit institutions to ensure safety of liquidity, treasury, transaction offices, assets and banking operations; coordinate with competent authorities to strengthen inspection, promptly handle violations in foreign currency trading, gold and new money exchange services, and trading in small and odd denominations of cash not in accordance with the law; promptly handle situations arising in financial activities before, during and after the Lunar New Year 2025.
