According to information from the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, at 1:00 p.m. on August 22, the center of the tropical depression was located at about 16.8 degrees North latitude; 121.2 degrees East longitude, on the mainland of Luzon Island (Philippines). The strongest wind near the center of the tropical depression was level 6, level 7, gusting to level 9; moving in the West-Northwest direction at a speed of 10-15km/h.

It is forecasted that early tomorrow morning (August 23), the tropical depression will strengthen into storm No. 5. This is considered an especially dangerous storm due to its rapid formation and movement. It is expected that on August 23-24, the storm will impact the Hoang Sa archipelago. From August 25, the storm will make landfall directly on our mainland.

At the conference, leaders of the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment approved the Response Plan for the tropical depression that could strengthen into storm No. 5. In particular, forecasting must be given top priority, ensuring accurate, timely and timely forecasting of the storm situation.
