A journey of love to the sea and islands
The delegation included delegates from the State Bank, the Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development of Vietnam (Agribank), units in the banking sector, along with reporters and artists from many agencies and units across the country.
With the spirit of "looking towards the homeland's sea and islands", the delegation brought material and spiritual gifts, expressing gratitude to the officers, soldiers and people who are day and night guarding the sacred sky and sea of the Fatherland.
Comrade Nguyen Thi Hong, Governor of the State Bank of Vietnam, presided over the flag-raising ceremony on Truong Sa island. |
At the beginning of the voyage, the delegation offered incense and flowers at the Gac Ma Soldiers Memorial (Cam Hai Dong Commune, Cam Lam District, Khanh Hoa Province); visited Linh Nguyen Pagoda and units of Naval Region 4 such as: Brigade 162, Brigade 146, Brigade 101, Brigade 955 and Submarine Brigade 189.
From April 16 to 22, the delegation visited and worked at the islands: Song Tu Tay, Da Thi, Sinh Ton, Co Lin, Len Dao, Truong Sa Lon and DK1/2 - Phuc Tan Platform. At the destinations, the delegation listened to reports on the living conditions, combat readiness tasks and protection of sea and island sovereignty of officers, soldiers and people on the islands.
During the voyage, the Delegation organized many meaningful activities imbued with the love between the army and the people: organizing a memorial service for the heroic martyrs who sacrificed for the sovereignty of the sea and islands of the Fatherland; offering incense at the Memorial House of President Ho Chi Minh, the Monument of the National Duke, Commander-in-Chief, Hung Dao Dai Vuong Tran Quoc Tuan, the Martyrs Memorial and pagodas on the island. The Delegation also organized a memorial service for the heroic martyrs who sacrificed for the cause of protecting the sovereignty of the sea and islands in the Truong Sa archipelago... Activities such as tree planting, cultural exchange, sports competitions, and gift giving to support the army and people also contributed to warming the hearts of the Vietnamese people at the forefront.
The moments of the red flag with yellow star fluttering in the middle of the ocean, the bright smiles of the young soldiers, the singing resounding among the sound of the waves - all lit up the flame of pride and responsibility in the hearts of each member of the working group. The memorial service for the heroic martyrs at Gac Ma, where the blood of the soldiers mingled with the waves to maintain the sovereignty of the Fatherland, made many delegates unable to hold back their tears.
In particular, the delegation was honored to have the presence of Comrade Nguyen Thi Hong - Member of the Party Central Committee, Governor of the State Bank and Rear Admiral Do Van Yen - Deputy Political Commissar of the Navy joining the delegation in activities at Truong Sa island. In the emotional series of activities, Governor Nguyen Thi Hong shared her deep emotions when witnessing the solemn atmosphere of the flag-raising ceremony at Truong Sa and her pride in the steadfast and courageous spirit of the soldiers and people here - those who are day and night protecting every inch of land and sea of the Fatherland.
The Governor added that the banking sector always identifies its responsibility to accompany the forces protecting the sovereignty of sea and islands, not only through material support but also through spiritual solidarity, sharing and deep gratitude.
“We pledge to continue to be a solid rear, contributing to building Truong Sa increasingly stronger, so that the sea and islands will forever be a part of the flesh and blood of the Vietnamese people,” said the Governor.
The Governor's statement is not only a word of encouragement but also a strong affirmation of the role of the banking industry in contributing to protecting and building the homeland's sea and islands.
Here, the Delegation also presented support worth 23.5 billion VND to the Navy, including essential equipment and supplies to improve the living conditions and working conditions of the people and soldiers of Truong Sa. In addition, the State Bank also provided an additional 1 billion VND to the officers and soldiers of Song Tu Tay Island, along with many gifts of practical significance to serve the people and soldiers of the island district and DK1 Platform. The Banking Industry Trade Union also donated more than 250 million VND from contributions from officers and employees in the entire industry to the islands and platforms that Delegation No. 10 did not have the opportunity to visit during this working trip.
Proud to be part of the journey connecting hearts towards the sacred mission of protecting the Fatherland.
This Agribank delegation had the participation of Comrade Phung Thi Binh - Head of the Agribank delegation, Deputy General Director of Agribank; representatives of advisory agencies, assisting the Agribank Party Committee; leaders of Departments and Centers at the Head Office and some branches in the whole system; bringing material gifts and the heart, pride, and will of Agribank to accompany the marine soldiers at the forefront.
With a tradition of more than 37 years of association with the armed forces and profound social responsibility, Agribank has always been a pioneer in activities towards the homeland's sea and islands. During this working trip, Agribank continued to affirm its role as a loyal companion, contributing to spreading the spirit of patriotism and responsibility for national sovereignty.
At destinations such as Song Tu Tay, Sinh Ton, Da Thi, Len Dao and Truong Sa, the Agribank delegation led by comrade Phung Thi Binh presented hundreds of gifts, including essential items and spiritual gifts, demonstrating deep concern for the lives of soldiers and people on remote islands.
At Colin Island - the place that witnessed the heroic naval battle in 1988, comrade Phung Thi Binh shared: “Standing on the sacred land of Colin Island, we not only feel the resilience of the soldiers but also deeply understand the value of peace and sovereignty. We deeply admire the spirit of overcoming difficulties, the resilience and tireless efforts of the officers and soldiers of Colin Island. In harsh natural conditions, amidst the storms and endless challenges from the sea and island situation, you remain steadfast at the forefront, always completing your assigned tasks excellently.”
The Deputy General Director of Agribank said that the business trip to Truong Sa was an opportunity for Agribank to deeply understand its responsibilities. The sentiments of more than 40,000 cadres, party members and employees in the entire Agribank system are always directed towards the sea and islands, which are expressed in social security projects and programs and financial support for fishermen. Agribank is proud that these contributions - from the movement "The whole country for Truong Sa" have been realized right here with practical and meaningful imprints, contributing to joining hands to maintain the sacred sovereignty of the Fatherland in the middle of the ocean.
Over the years, Agribank has left a strong mark in its activities towards the sea and islands. From building a multi-purpose cultural house on Co Lin Island worth nearly 40 billion VND, supporting medical equipment for clinics on Truong Sa archipelago, to accompanying the program "Greening Truong Sa", all demonstrate Agribank's sense of responsibility towards the homeland.
In particular, the program of presenting thousands of national flags to fishermen in Truong Sa, DK1 Platform and traditional sea areas has become a symbol of solidarity. At Truong Sa island port, the red flags with yellow stars were handed over by Agribank representatives to fishermen, as a message of faith and strength for them to continue to go out to sea, becoming "living milestones" affirming sovereignty in the East Sea.
Not only bringing gifts, Agribank also sent to Truong Sa warm hearts and practical actions. Agribank officers participating in the journey actively contributed to activities that fostered military-civilian solidarity such as giving gifts to households on the island, telling stories about the history of the banking industry during the resistance war, or performing simple but emotional performances. The silent contributions from the home front, from tens of thousands of officers and employees in the entire Agribank system, have created an image of Agribank not only as a bank for the community, but also as a part of the flesh and blood of the Fatherland.
The voyage of Working Group No. 10 has come to an end, but the echoes of love for the country, love for the sea and islands, the spirit of solidarity and sacred responsibility for the sacred sovereignty of the sea and islands of the Fatherland still resonate in the hearts of each member who was honored to participate in the journey of more than 1,000 nautical miles. This is not just a trip, but a journey of emotions, gratitude and a proud mission.
For Agribank and the entire banking industry, this is a firm promise: to always be a solid rear, standing side by side with the forces protecting the Fatherland's borders. From small gifts to every glance and handshake, all have contributed to writing the Truong Sa song - a heroic song of patriotism, of faith and hope in the sustainability and longevity of a peaceful, prosperous and beautiful Vietnam.
