700 people in difficult circumstances go to "Tet market" early at Ho Chi Minh City Academy of Officials

On the morning of January 6, the Trade Union, Veterans Association, Youth Union, Women Intellectuals Association and Emulation Block 1 of Ho Chi Minh City Academy of Officials organized the 4th "Zero-VND Spring Market" program on the occasion of the Lunar New Year 2025.

The program aims to accompany and support people in difficult circumstances to have a warm and happy Lunar New Year. At the same time, it promotes and mobilizes people to promote the tradition of mutual support, promote the spirit of volunteerism and responsibility for the community of the staff, workers and students of the Ho Chi Minh City Academy of Officials in social work and community service.

Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Tan Phat, Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Academy of Officials, said that the "Zero-VND Spring Market" program is part of the traditional flow of affection in Ho Chi Minh City.

According to Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Tan Phat, this year's program takes care of 700 people in difficult circumstances. These are workers, teachers of universal education, orphans, children with serious illnesses, homeless, working to earn a living in Binh Thanh, Phu Nhuan, Go Vap districts. Among them are also people with serious illnesses, loss of working capacity; workers, service staff, retired officials and students of the Academy.

"The beneficiaries of this year's program have been expanded and deepened to the grassroots level," Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Tan Phat informed. To date, the program has received contributions of more than VND450 million in cash, 3 tons of rice and many gifts from individuals and organizations. He said that all of this money and gifts will be transferred to beneficiaries of the program.

Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Tan Phat also affirmed that the program's organizing committee will strive to make "Zero-VND Spring Market" a regular, traditional program of the Ho Chi Minh City Academy of Officials during each Lunar New Year.

At the program, participants were given a lucky money envelope of 200,000 VND.

Besides, you can also visit, shop and choose your own items at 18 booths. These are all essential items, especially during Tet holidays such as rice, instant noodles, milk, cooking oil, soy sauce, fish sauce, seasoning powder, sugar, soft drinks, canned meat, cakes, nuts, fruits, clothes, etc.

Mr. Vo Van Sau (63 years old, Phu Nhuan district) said he was very moved to participate in the program. "It's been a long time since I've been able to go to the market and personally choose the necessary items to celebrate Tet without worrying about the price. I hope this program will be held every year so that people in difficult circumstances can happily celebrate Tet" - Mr. Sau shared.
