16 Vietnamese universities listed in international rankings in 2025

TPO - The Times Higher Education ranking organization has just announced the Impact Ranking for 2025. Vietnam has 16 schools, the most ever.

Today, June 18, Times Higher Education (THE) announced the results of THE Impact Rankings - a ranking that assesses the contribution of universities worldwide to the implementation of the 17 sustainable development goals (SDGs) of the United Nations.

Among the 16 Vietnamese universities ranked in this year's rankings, the top 301-400 (the highest ranking in Vietnam) includes 4 units: National Economics University,FPT University, Ho Chi Minh City University of Economics and Nguyen Tat Thanh University.

National Economics University ranked with 4 SDG criteria considered, of which 2 SDG criteria were ranked in the top 20 and the top 50 was SDG 16: peace , justice and strong institutions, ranked 11th worldwide, and is the only university in Vietnam in the top 100.

This index of the National Economics University reached 87.5 points, far exceeding the world average of 49.1 points. The SDG 8 standard of economic growth and decent work ranked 49th worldwide, and is 1 of 3 universities in Vietnam ranked in the top 100.

Top 401-600 includes Duy Tan University and Ton Duc Thang University. Van Lang University is in the top 601-800, up 200 places compared to last year. Meanwhile, Hanoi University of Science and Technology and Hanoi National University are both ranked 801-1,000.

Compared to last year, this year the number of ranked Vietnamese schools increased by 3 schools.

In 2025, THE's THE Impact Rankings will feature 2,526 educational institutions from many countries and continents, an increase of 563 schools compared to the previous year.

In Southeast Asia, participation in THE Impact Rankings is expanding. The Philippines leads the way with 113 higher education institutions represented, followed by Thailand with 83 and Indonesia with 71.
