Launching ceremony at Saigon riverside park

Ho Chi Minh City continues four campaigns: Green Summer, Red Flamboyant, Pink Vacation, Green March, along with two programs: Exam Support and Green Tutor.

Accordingly, the launching ceremony of the 2024 summer volunteer programs and campaigns of Ho Chi Minh City will be held on June 2 at Saigon River Park (Thu Duc City). This is also the peak day of activities of Volunteer Soldiers for Juniors.

Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Youth Union Ngo Minh Hai shared that choosing the Saigon River bank park in the new urban area of ​​Thu Thiem (Thu Duc City) as the launching ceremony has many meanings.

This is a new space of Ho Chi Minh City associated with Thu Duc City - a city of innovation and creativity. Many projects, contents and tasks in the entire campaign will be associated with the Saigon River.

From here, Ho Chi Minh City Youth Union hopes to spread the message about the key project "Saigon River - The river of my city".

"Choosing to participate in summer volunteer activities from this position is an affirmation and commitment of the city's youth to participate in building Thu Duc into an innovative and creative city, launching youth activities associated with digital transformation," said Mr. Hai.

In addition, there are other key projects such as: Building "Youth Island" in Thanh An island commune (Can Gio district); Improving the landscape of Vo Chi Cong street (Thu Duc city); Digitizing martyrs' tombstones at Ho Chi Minh City Martyrs' Cemetery (phase 2) and collecting and digitizing information of Ho Chi Minh City soldiers at martyrs' cemeteries nationwide, digitizing and restoring photos and information of heroic Vietnamese mothers, heroic martyrs, and movement parents.

Summer volunteering 2024 has many new features

This year, the Ho Chi Minh City Youth Union aims to have 1 million members and young people participate in summer volunteer activities.

Of which, strive to plant at least 125,000 trees, corresponding to each summer volunteer soldier planting one tree during the 2024 summer volunteer activities.

The main novelty is the selection of projects associated with participating in major, key issues, the contents the city is focusing on such as digital transformation, planting trees and increasing green areas towards NetZero...

Accordingly, the "Green Can Gio" volunteer project aims to build Thanh An island commune into a "Youth Island" and plant trees in Can Gio district. Ho Chi Minh City also invites international students, artists, influencers on social networks and in the community to participate in the upcoming summer volunteer activities.
