Step 1 handling of landslides and rockfalls on Highway 435 to ensure traffic flow

Due to the impact of heavy rains since early July 2025, many landslides and rocks have appeared on Highway 435 through Thung Nai and Muong Hoa communes. To ensure smooth and safe traffic and overcome the consequences of natural disasters, the Department of Construction has coordinated with local authorities and relevant departments and agencies to conduct field surveys and propose solutions.

Soil and rocks spilled onto road 435 have been cleared, fixing the first stage of the landslide.

The Department of Construction has directed the Phu Tho Traffic Construction and Maintenance Project Management Board to proactively coordinate with relevant units to immediately handle the first step of landslides and rocks spilling onto the roadway. The unit has coordinated to clear about 30 locations with a total volume of over ^2,000m3 of soil and rocks; and installed 6 warning signs of the danger of rolling rocks and landslides on the right and left sides of the route at Km9+150, Km9+250, Km15+280, Km15+400.

Provincial Road 435, 31.38km long, is the only route connecting the old Hoa Binh city to Binh Thanh port, Thung Nai port, and Hoa Binh lake area. To ensure traffic and minimize the risk of accidents for road users if landslides or rockslides occur, the Phu Tho Traffic Construction and Maintenance Project Management Board proposes to invest in the project: Emergency repair and treatment of positive slopes at locations at risk of landslides and rockslides on Route 435 due to storms and rain. The total investment is about 9 billion VND.
