Son Hai island commune strives to achieve model new rural standards

Speaking at the congress, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of An Giang Province Le Thanh Viet requested the Party Committee of Son Hai Commune to continue to promote the work of building and rectifying the Party and the political system to be clean and strong in all aspects. The commune needs to fully understand the position, role, potential and opportunities of the commune in the context of the province and the region expanding its development space. From there, it is necessary to renew thinking, broaden vision, clearly identify key and breakthrough tasks for the commune to develop to its full potential.

Economic development must go hand in hand with socio-cultural development, increased investment in education, health care, building high-quality human resources to meet integration requirements. Pay attention to caring for the material and spiritual life of the people, especially those with meritorious services, policy families, and poor households.

With the potential and advantages of the sea and islands, in the 2025 - 2030 term, the Son Hai Commune Party Committee will promote economic restructuring towards increasing the proportion of trade and services; developing the private economy and collective economy associated with exploiting the potential and advantages of the sea and islands such as exploitation, aquaculture and marine ecotourism; at the same time applying science, technology, innovation, creativity and digital transformation. Striving to achieve the standards of a model new rural commune.

The Congress announced the decision of the Provincial Party Standing Committee to appoint 21 comrades to the Son Hai Commune Party Executive Committee; 7 comrades to the Commune Party Standing Committee. Comrade Ong Van Ty was appointed to hold the position of Secretary of the Son Hai Commune Party Committee for the 2025-2030 term.
