Specifically, at 8:45 a.m., Doji and SJC listed the price of gold bars at 103.4 - 106.4 million VND/tael, a sharp increase of 2.8 million VND/tael in both directions compared to early this morning. Thus, this is the highest record ever.
At the same time, Doji listed the price of gold rings at 101.4 - 105 million VND/tael, an increase of 1.2 million VND/tael (buy) and 1.8 million VND/tael (sell) compared to early this morning.
Domestic gold prices peaked while world gold prices today also conquered new peaks.
On the morning of April 11, the world gold price continued to increase sharply by 110 USD/ounce compared to early yesterday morning, reaching 3,188 USD/ounce, this is the highest price in history.
Gold prices rose sharply thanks to the weakening of the US dollar. The US Dollar Index fell more than 1%, making gold cheaper for holders of other currencies.
In addition, the escalating trade war between the US and China following the decision to impose reciprocal tariffs has prompted investors to seek precious metals as a safe haven.
Commenting on the trend of gold prices in the coming days, Dr. Nguyen Tri Hieu analyzed: The reason for the sharp increase in gold prices this time comes from the information that President Donald Trump postponed the imposition of reciprocal tariffs for 90 days with most of the countries on the previously announced list. This information helps stabilize market sentiment.
However, the fact that the US and China are showing signs of entering a trade war by continuously imposing high tariffs on each other has had a strong impact on all global financial markets, including gold as a safe haven.
Therefore, Mr. Hieu predicts that gold prices will continue to increase in the coming days. The world price may reach 3,200 USD/ounce.
"I don't see any clear factors to pull down the gold price, so it's likely that the gold price has not yet peaked and will continue to increase during this period. Domestic gold prices will also increase due to being strongly affected by world prices," Mr. Hieu commented.
However, Mr. Hieu also emphasized that it is impossible to know in advance what peak the gold price will reach because gold is a very volatile market that can reverse very quickly.
