VietinBank iConnect DX: Vietnam's most innovative open banking and API initiative

VietinBank iConnect DX is an initiative deployed by VietinBank to optimize the open banking platform VietinBank iConnect with a diverse digital product portfolio and a flexible implementation team.

The number of customers using the service and transactions has grown dramatically after the initiative was implemented. To date, more than 300 APIs have been deployed with the participation of more than 400 partners, serving nearly 20 million customers with a variety of newly deployed products and services.

VietinBank iConnect DX has helped businesses reduce costs, significantly save implementation time and contribute to the overall growth of the business.

The VietinBank iConnect DX initiative has helped simplify system connection for school and hospital customer groups, with the launch of new products and services such as identity accounts, smartPOS, smartKiosk, etc.; supported the development of comprehensive cash flow management solutions for merchant groups; developed a new generation ERP connection solution for large enterprises and FDI enterprises. Since then, VietinBank iConnect DX has helped businesses reduce costs, significantly save implementation time and contribute to the overall growth of the business.

Thanks to the above breakthroughs, The Asian Banker has awarded the award for the most innovative API and open banking initiative in Vietnam 2025 to VietinBank iConnect DX. This is a recognition of the Bank's continuous efforts to improve and develop the API and open banking platform to provide an increasingly diverse range of modern and multi-utility solutions, products, and services, as well as optimize customer experience.

VietinBank is currently one of the pioneering banks in implementing an open banking platform with an “open” mindset in cooperating with technology partners and Fintech. The groups of solutions, products and services provided by VietinBank via the API connection protocol in the Bank’s Open Banking platform include: Payment, cash flow management, lending and many other services.
