Experts also presented solutions for applying digital technology in the livestock industry, including using AI to monitor the health of pigs, analyzing Big Data to optimize the livestock process and control diseases more effectively. One of the highlights is the application of AI in predicting the health status of pigs, thereby helping pig farmers to intervene promptly, minimizing damage caused by diseases such as African swine fever (ASF).

The program also discussed the state of the livestock industry and advances in technology in China. China currently has the world's largest pig herd with 640 million heads, while Vietnam ranks sixth globally with about 50 million heads. Vietnam is also the world's second largest poultry herd, after China.

Associate Professor, Dr. Le Van Phan, Vietnam National University of Agriculture, emphasized the importance of technology in controlling diseases, especially African swine fever. Mr. Phan said that rapid testing technology, smart monitoring and new prevention methods have helped reduce the spread of diseases, while creating a safer farming environment.
