Implementing Decision No. 1910/2019/QD-UBND of the Provincial People's Committee approving the plan to select contractors and bidding packages for equipping mobile swimming pools for swimming teaching in 2019, the Department of Education and Training (DoET) has equipped 25 mobile swimming pools for primary and secondary schools in the province. In addition, the Community Fund for Disaster Prevention and Control and individuals sponsored 2 swimming pools for schools. For the People's Committees of districts and cities, commit to investing in completing infrastructure to install swimming pools such as: foundation, fence, roof, changing room, electricity, water and swimming teachers. In the 2 school years 2020-2021 and 2021-2022, due to the impact of the COVID-19 epidemic, schools implemented social distancing and online learning, so they temporarily did not use mobile swimming pools. Current difficulties and obstacles are: There are no teachers with expertise in swimming; No financial resources to pay for electricity, water, water treatment, regular cleaning of the swimming pool; the swimming pool easily gets algae at the bottom, the use of water treatment chemicals does not ensure the health safety of students because of lack of expertise...

Concluding the meeting, the Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee requested the Department of Education and Training to soon organize working sessions with the People's Committees of districts and cities to determine and agree on the need to invest in building mobile swimming pools to teach swimming at schools; provide general guidance for the whole province on including swimming content in the teaching program, professional training for teachers, and operation and use of swimming pools; advise on adding swimming teaching fees to Resolution No. 27/2022/NQ-HDND of the Provincial People's Council stipulating the content and collection levels of service fees to serve and support educational activities other than tuition fees of public general education institutions in Ninh Thuan province. He also requested localities to make efforts to maintain the operation of 27 swimming pools; call for socialization to build swimming pools to meet the swimming learning needs of students, contributing to the effective implementation of the work of preventing and avoiding injuries and drowning for children in the province.
