The 2025 university entrance exam is entering the decisive stage.
Nearly 850,000 candidates with more than 7.6 million wishes will soon "finalize", and each student will only have one chance to be admitted.
As planned, from August 13, all admission data - including high school graduation exam scores, transcripts, and results of separate exams - will be uploaded by schools to the System for admission.
The peak period was August 17-20, when the Ministry of Education and Training coordinated with two virtual filtering groups chaired by Hanoi University of Science and Technology (North) and Ho Chi Minh City National University (South).
This process ensures that each candidate is only admitted to one wish, in order of priority from highest to lowest. Once admitted to a higher wish, the candidate will no longer be on the admission list for the next wishes.
However, on August 20, the Ministry of Education and Training decided to postpone the announcement time to 5:00 p.m. on August 22.
Postpone the announcement of benchmark scores
The Ministry of Education and Training has just sent a document to universities regarding the adjustment of the virtual admission and screening plan for 2025.
According to the Ministry of Education and Training, in 2025, the number of candidates registering for university and college admission will be higher, and it will also be the first year that colleges will participate in admission, no longer have early admission, and will use all admission methods in the first round.
To ensure accurate, fair and objective admission results, the Ministry of Education and Training recommends that schools focus on carefully reviewing all data, admission methods and situations in the context of many candidate data being used for admission to ensure that no candidates are missed or incorrectly admitted during the admission process; and limit the occurrence of handling errors during the admission process.
The Ministry of Education and Training recommends that schools not announce admission scores before the final virtual filtering on the system.
Previously, according to the plan, the virtual filtering process would end at 4:30 p.m. on August 20. From 5 p.m. on the same day, schools could announce the benchmark scores.
Some schools plan to announce their admission scores by the end of this afternoon (August 20), such as Hanoi University of Science and Technology, Academy of Public Administration and Management, University of Transport Technology, Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology, University of Economics and Law; University of Science and Technology - Ho Chi Minh National University...
However, according to the adjusted plan of the Ministry of Education and Training, the virtual filtering will be done 4 more times, after 6 times as originally planned. Therefore, the virtual filtering process will end at 12:30 on August 22. After this time, universities will be able to announce the benchmark scores. Thus, the schools cannot announce the benchmark scores this afternoon as originally planned.
The Government e-newspaper will continuously update the benchmark scores of schools so that candidates and parents can promptly monitor.
