At the 2024 AFC U23 Championship, despite not having much time to prepare and facing difficulties in terms of personnel when some key players such as Dinh Bac were injured and Quoc Viet had a viral fever and could not compete, the Vietnam U23 team still maintained their determination and promoted their collective strength to win a ticket to the quarterfinals. The team only lost and stopped before the much higher rated Iraq U23.
After finishing the journey in the early morning of April 27 (Vietnam time), U23 Vietnam arrived in Hanoi on the afternoon of April 28. After completing immigration procedures at Noi Bai Airport - Hanoi, the players were arranged by VFF to move to their localities or to their home clubs based on the competition schedule of domestic tournaments.
Most of the players in the U23 Vietnam squad will immediately begin their next journey in the National Cup, V-League and National First Division starting today, April 28. In May, the match schedules of the clubs in these tournaments will be very tight and the players will have to play an average of 3 matches per day.
