Although Van Hau has been suffering from persistent injuries and has been “missing” from competitions for over a year, CAHN has no intention of parting ways with this player. Currently, the 2023 V.League champion plans to retain the Vietnamese player with a new 2-year contract. The police team also creates maximum conditions for the 1999-born defender to treat his injury with the most modern methods.
“I just had surgery. Currently, I have removed the splint and fixed pins to enter the rehabilitation phase. I hope to be able to return to compete with my teammates at CAHN soon,” Doan Van Hau shared about his current situation.
The Thai Binh defender suffered an injury to his Achilles tendon. Before the Lunar New Year 2025, Van Hau went to Singapore for surgery and will need about 8 months to recover. Thus, if the recovery process progresses as expected, he can return to competition as early as the end of this year.
Doan Van Hau joined CAHN from the beginning of the 2023 season. He was highly appreciated by the team's leadership for his expertise and fighting spirit on the journey to conquer the V.League championship cup in his first season of participation.
During his time at CAHN, Van Hau was diagnosed with a right heel injury in September 2023 under coach Philippe Troussier. He went to Singapore three times for treatment. In September 2024, Van Hau continued to go to Korea for intensive treatment and then returned to Vietnam to continue the recovery process.
