On the afternoon of September 25 local time, within the framework of his visit to Bulgaria, in the capital Sofia, Chairman of the National Assembly, Professor, Dr. Vuong Dinh Hue visited the Sofia University of National and International Economics.

At the reception for the leadership of Sofia University of National and International Economics, Rector, Professor Dimitar Dimitrov respectfully thanked National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue for visiting Sofia University of National and International Economics during his first visit to Bulgaria as Chairman of the Vietnamese National Assembly.

Mr. Dimitar Dimitrov said that the school's scholars, lecturers and students are looking forward to the National Assembly Chairman's policy speech on the current world and regional situation and the good traditional friendship between Vietnam and Bulgaria.

Introducing to the Chairman of the National Assembly, Professor Dimitar Dimitrov informed that the Sofia University of National and International Economics is a famous higher economic school with a history of more than a century, the cradle of training many high-ranking leaders of Bulgaria and the world, many of whom later held the position of prime minister, diplomat and many other key positions in the Government, the Bulgarian National Assembly, scientists who have received international awards, including the prestigious Nobel Prize.

Sofia University of National and International Economics has also trained thousands of Vietnamese students and postgraduates, including former National Assembly Chairman Nguyen Sinh Hung.

National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue expressed his joy and emotion when visiting the Sofia University of National and International Economics, recalling the exciting time when he was still standing on the university podium with 23 years of teaching at the major university of finance and economics in Vietnam.

The National Assembly Chairman said that during this visit to Bulgaria, he received deep affection and a warm welcome from Bulgarian friends, leaving deep impressions of the beautiful country of Bulgaria and the very kind and hospitable Bulgarian people.

As close friends of the Bulgarian people, Vietnam always pays attention to, follows and congratulates the achievements that the Bulgarian people have made in socio-economic development and European integration, bringing prosperity and stability to the country and enhancing Bulgaria's international position.

The National Assembly Chairman sincerely thanked Bulgaria in general and the Sofia University of National and International Economics in particular for helping train more than 30,000 students, postgraduates and workers for Vietnam, many of whom have become key officials in the state apparatus, making positive contributions to the cause of national construction and development. The National Assembly Chairman affirmed that this is a valuable asset of the two peoples.

Professor Dimitar Dimitrov said that currently, Sofia University of International and National Economics has effective cooperation with a number of Vietnamese universities such as Open University and Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology, and highly appreciated the intelligence, creativity, diligence and hard work of Vietnamese students. The professor expressed his desire to expand cooperation with a number of other Vietnamese universities in the near future.

Expressing full support for the Sofia University of International and National Economics to continue expanding cooperation with Vietnamese universities, National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue emphasized that educational cooperation is a very important bridge to connect the two nations, enhancing mutual understanding and trust.

The National Assembly Chairman believes that with the existing good foundation, the cooperation between the Sofia University of International and National Economics and Vietnamese universities in particular and educational cooperation between the two countries in general will increasingly reap better results in the coming time.

The Vietnamese National Assembly leaders acknowledged the school's proposal to synthesize and connect Vietnamese officials who have studied at the Sofia University of National and International Economics.
