This year marks the 50th anniversary of Vietnam's reunification, the North and the South coming together as one, and the Vietnamese people living in peace, independence and freedom. That is thanks to the sacrifices of blood and youth of many previous generations.

In the atmosphere of turning towards the homeland and the Fatherland, the delegates attending the rally listened again to the emotional speech of General Secretary To Lam at the grand ceremony celebrating the 50th anniversary of national reunification in Ho Chi Minh City, in which the General Secretary emphasized the task of strongly implementing the policy of national harmony and reconciliation with the spirit that all Vietnamese people have the blood of Lac Hong, are brothers and sisters, "like trees of the same root, like children of the same family". In addition to the delegation of the Embassy, ​​the Vietnamese Party Committee in the Russian Federation, the Youth Union, there were also many representatives of industry associations, Vietnamese compatriots associations in Moscow and other cities, businesses, and the Vietnam-Russia Friendship Association coming to share joy with the veterans. Expanding the number of participants was also the intention of the Organizing Committee, wanting to recreate the festive atmosphere in the homeland, when all people were looking towards the parade.

Veteran Do Van Tieu burst into tears when recalling April 30, 1975. At that time, Do Van Tieu had just joined the army, but until now, he still cannot forget the feeling of the last days of the war. Today, after watching the parade in his hometown, Do Van Tieu realized even more that the victory in 1975 was the victory of the entire nation, of both the North and the South, so that the country could be reunited, so that all soldiers could return home to a peaceful life.

This year's anniversary for the soldiers is special for many reasons: the half-century mark of the end of the war, 75 years of Vietnam-Russia relations, 80 years of the Victory over fascism with the first participation in the parade of the descendants of Uncle Ho's soldiers and the eagerness to wait for the visit of high-ranking leaders on this occasion.

Veteran Nguyen Xuan Thieu, Vice President of the Vietnam Veterans Association in the Russian Federation, was lucky enough to directly participate in the parade celebrating the 10th anniversary of the victory in 1985 in Ho Chi Minh City. For the veteran who watches the news every day, the jubilant atmosphere in his homeland, when everywhere was red with the national flag, the joyful crowds shouted "Long live President Ho Chi Minh", the bustling melody "As if Uncle Ho was here on the day of great victory" filled the country on April 30, as if it had spread to Russia, to become a new driving force in activities towards the homeland, warm with comradeship.

Ms. Le Thi Kim Lien attended the festival after staying up all night to watch the parade in her hometown. In 2025, the country celebrates the 50th anniversary of national reunification, and for Ms. Kim Lien, it is the 40th anniversary of her military service. For her, April 30th this year, the country has won another victory, a victory in the hearts of the people, in national reconciliation. According to the female veteran, good diplomatic relations with major powers, even former enemies, is another success of Vietnam.

Even young people have deep feelings about the event of the 50th anniversary of the country's reunification. Student Phan Minh Tan went to Russia to study from Tay Ninh and historical documentary footage of the resistance against the US made him even more proud of his Southern roots.
