General Secretary and President Xi Jinping emphasized that he will direct the Chinese State Council to closely coordinate with the Vietnamese Government to soon put the important common perceptions reached during this visit into real life.

Reviewing the important developments and achievements of substantive cooperation between the two countries in recent times, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh outlined six key directions for cooperation, including: One is to strengthen strategic exchanges and close communication at high and all levels. Sixth, request the two sides to control disagreements well and properly handle maritime issues in the spirit of friendship, mutual respect, in accordance with international law, including the 1982 United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea (UNCLOS).
