Lieutenant Colonel Doan Quoc Viet, Commander of the 896th Infantry Regiment, said: The Party Committee of the Regiment always closely follows the central political tasks of the unit, issues resolutions to lead the implementation of training tasks with targets, contents, and measures suitable for each training subject, as well as the characteristics and tasks of the unit. Directs agencies and units to do a good job of political and ideological education, instilling in officers and soldiers to raise awareness, responsibility, overcome difficulties to complete assigned training targets. Directs innovation in forms and methods of indoctrination and education, combining general education with specific education. In addition, the Regiment regularly indoctrinates officers and soldiers to better understand the direction, motto, tasks, and training requirements, especially the key and breakthrough tasks in training. Thanks to that, 100% of officers and soldiers have good awareness, high responsibility, promote positivity, voluntarily participate in training, combat and master weapons and equipment in the establishment.

At the same time, identifying mass mobilization work as one of the important tasks of Party and political work, the Regiment has regularly disseminated to each officer and soldier to raise awareness of the position, role and significance of mass mobilization work. Actively and regularly coordinate with Party committees, authorities and departments, branches, unions and localities to deploy many mass mobilization activities in line with the tasks of socio-economic development and national defense consolidation in the locality. From 2020 to present, the Regiment has carried out mass mobilization work in many localities such as: Organizing soldiers to build flood avoidance roads in Ma Noi commune (Ninh Son) with a length of 3 km; mobilizing over 400 working days to dredge drainage canals in residential areas in Ho Hai commune, Vinh Hai commune (Ninh Hai), Nhon Son commune (Ninh Son) with a total length of more than 7 km. In addition, the officers and soldiers of the Regiment participated in the construction of new rural areas in Phuoc Diem commune (Thuan Nam), together with the locality and people to repair the roads, pouring 50 m3 of concrete, with more than 150 working days. At the same time, in coordination with the local youth union where the unit does service work, it organized 12 cultural, artistic, and sports exchanges, attracting over 1,500 union officials and members to participate. Incorporated into the field trips to do service work are propaganda sessions, mobilizing people to well implement the Party's guidelines and policies, the State's policies and laws, actively fighting against superstition, social evils, building a cultural lifestyle, and good traditions of the nation.

Since July 2021, in the face of the complicated developments of the COVID-19 pandemic, implementing the direction of the Commander of the Provincial Military Command, the Regiment has organized mobilization, concentrating troops at the Engineer Company barracks, leaving the entire barracks of the unit to serve centralized medical quarantine for citizens. Through 38 receptions and management of more than 4,000 citizens for quarantine, the unit has served with good results, ensuring absolute safety; creating a good impression, contributing to further enhancing the beautiful image of "Uncle Ho's Soldiers" in the hearts of the people.

With efforts, hard work, high sense of responsibility, overcoming all difficulties, the Regiment has been awarded many certificates of merit, certificates of merit, emulation flags (in 2015) by the Ministry of National Defense, Military Region 5, Provincial People's Committee, Provincial Military Command, and 4 consecutive years of winning the title of Determined to Win Unit (2018-2021) for excellently completing assigned tasks.
