Late on March 15, the Vietnamese team faced the Mexican team in the quarter-finals of the 2025 World Carom Billiards Team Championship taking place in Germany. Tran Quyet Chien met Javier Vera, while Bao Phuong Vinh faced Christian Hernandez.

Tran Quyet Chien has the first series of over 10 points

The number 1 player in Vietnam and the world's 4th player is of course rated much higher than Javier Vera (ranked 56 UMB). However, what worries Vietnamese billiards fans is that Tran Quyet Chien is not in good form. In the group stage, the player born in 1984 only won 1 match, and lost the remaining 2 matches. The Vietnamese team won the right to enter the quarter-finals thanks to Bao Phuong Vinh's stable performance and perfect record.

In the knockout round, Tran Quyet Chien won the right to start first and had a very good start. Vietnam's number 1 player opened impressively with a series of 11 points. This is also the highest series of points that Quyet Chien has achieved since the beginning of the tournament, up to now.

After that, although Quyet Chien could not maintain a steady scoring performance, the Vietnamese player still controlled the game well and created a fairly safe gap.
