UN Secretary General, Ambassadors of countries visit General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong

On behalf of the United Nations, Secretary-General Antonio Guterres sent his deepest condolences to the Government and people of Vietnam and the family of General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong.

On July 24, United Nations leaders and ambassadors from countries to the United Nations visited General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong at the Permanent Mission of Vietnam to the United Nations in New York (USA).

UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres highly appreciated the key leadership role of General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong and acknowledged that under his leadership, Vietnam has continued its remarkable development journey and become an increasingly important partner of the United Nations.

On behalf of the United Nations, Secretary-General Antonio Guterres sent his deepest condolences to the Government and people of Vietnam and the family of General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong.

On the same day, President of the 78th United Nations General Assembly Dennis Francis met with Ambassador Dang Hoang Giang, Head of the Permanent Delegation of Vietnam to the United Nations, and sent his deepest condolences and those of the entire United Nations General Assembly to the State and people of Vietnam.

The President of the General Assembly shared the great loss of the Vietnamese people at the passing of a devoted leader who devoted himself to the country.

Ambassador Dang Hoang Giang thanked the sincere gesture and affection of United Nations Secretary-General Antotio Guterres and President of the United Nations General Assembly Dennis Francis for General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong.

The Ambassador shared that under the leadership of General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong, Vietnam has witnessed many great achievements in the cause of innovation, national development and international integration, including the continuous enhancement of its position, role and contribution to the common work of the United Nations.

Also on July 24, Ambassador Anouparb Vongnorkeo, Head of the Lao Permanent Mission and Ambassador Fu Cong, Head of the Chinese Permanent Mission to the United Nations, visited and signed the condolence book for General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong at the Vietnamese Permanent Mission to the United Nations./.
