As an active participant in the campaign to support the “For Vietnam’s Seas and Islands” Fund launched by the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the city, Buddhist nun Thich Dam Hieu, abbot of Tho Lao Pagoda (Hai Ba Trung District), Deputy Head of the Executive Committee of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha of Hoang Mai District and Hai Ba Trung District, shared: “I am always grateful to generations of cadres and soldiers who have shed blood to maintain the sacred sovereignty of the seas and islands of the Fatherland. Every year, when the Vietnam Fatherland Front of the city launches a campaign to support the “For Vietnam’s Seas and Islands” Fund, I enthusiastically respond. This year, I personally donated 50 million VND. I will continue to promote and mobilize monks, nuns, and Buddhists to actively support the fund towards Truong Sa.”

As the locality that has been leading the city in mobilizing support for the Fund "For Vietnam's Seas and Islands" for many years, Chairwoman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Long Bien District, Vu Thi Thanh, shared the method: The Vietnam Fatherland Front of the district coordinates with the authorities at the same level to deploy to the sectors and assign focal points in charge of propaganda and mobilization for each block and ward.

To ensure transparency in receiving funds, from 2024, the district and some wards will publicize their accounts and receive funds via QR codes. During the mobilization process, the district also pays attention to encouraging and rewarding groups and individuals who contribute to the fund.

Chairwoman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Cau Giay District Nguyen Thi Thanh said: “This year, Cau Giay District has registered to donate 2 billion VND. With the affection, responsibility, and heart of the city's people, the officials and people of Cau Giay District are still determined to complete and exceed the set target.”

Meanwhile, for many consecutive years, Ung Hoa district has always achieved and exceeded the registered mobilization target. Typically, in 2024, the fund collection reached nearly 1.4 billion VND, exceeding 163%. Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ung Hoa district, Tran Duyen Hai, shared: "This year, the Standing Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the district has issued an appeal for support to the fund; built specific mobilization targets for each agency and unit and counted the weekly support results with a commitment to complete and exceed the set target. The district's political system uses communication channels to call for support, while creating conditions for all contributions to be fully recorded..."

Warmth of sharing

From 2016 to present, the capital’s officials and people have contributed over 509 billion VND to the “For the Sea and Islands” Fund. From this fund, the city has supported the construction of 11 multi-purpose cultural houses, providing spiritual and material support to officials, soldiers and people on the islands of Truong Sa island district. These works bearing the imprint of the Party Committee, government and people of the capital have contributed to improving the lives and giving strength to the army and people of the island district to perform well the task of protecting the sacred sovereignty of the sea and islands of the Fatherland.

Promoting the spirit of “Hanoi for the whole country, with the whole country”, this year, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the city calls on agencies, organizations, units, businesses, religious organizations; cadres, soldiers, people of all walks of life and overseas Vietnamese in the capital to uphold the tradition of patriotism, loyalty, and love for the sea and islands of the Fatherland, and actively respond to support the Fund “For Vietnam’s seas and islands”.

Member of the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee, Chairwoman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Hanoi City Nguyen Lan Huong emphasized: "Every contribution, no matter how small, is a great sharing, a source of motivation and trust for cadres, soldiers and people who are working day and night at the forefront."

Building on the results of previous years, this year, cadres, party members and people of all walks of life in the capital will actively respond to support the fund. The Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the city is committed to ensuring efficiency, publicity, transparency and timeliness in the management and use of the fund.

Vietnam's seas and islands hold a particularly important strategic position, an inseparable sacred part of the Fatherland. The task of preserving sovereignty over the seas and islands is the common responsibility of the entire Party, the entire army and every Vietnamese citizen, including the children of Hanoi.

In early May, a delegation of city officials will visit and encourage the soldiers and people of Truong Sa archipelago; officers and soldiers of DK-1 Platform. In addition to the spiritual gifts filled with affection from the people of the capital, the delegation also brought material support with deep gratitude from the Fund "For Vietnam's seas and islands".
