Leaders of the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Ethnic Minorities and Religions, and the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment reported on the implementation of the three National Target Programs on Socio-Economic Development for Ethnic Minorities and Mountainous Areas, and the Program on New Rural Development and Sustainable Poverty Reduction for the 2021-2025 period.

Of which, the central budget medium-term investment plan for 3 national target programs of over 102,000 billion VND has been fully allocated 100% in the annual plan and has been handed over to central and local agencies, reaching 97%. As for the total central budget capital of nearly 92,000 billion VND, over 97,000 billion VND has been balanced and allocated, exceeding the plan by 6%.
Currently, 77.9% of communes nationwide have met the New Rural standards, 47.6% of district-level units have met the New Rural standards, and 6 provinces have completed the task of building New Rural areas. However, by the end of 2024, the poverty rate according to the multidimensional poverty standard is 1.93%, the poverty rate in poor districts is 24.84%.

In Nghe An province, the disbursement results of the target programs in the province for the period 2021 - 2025 have been actively implemented. In particular, the National Target Program for New Rural Areas has achieved a disbursement rate of over 87% for public investment and career capital. To date, the whole province has 275 communes out of 362 communes meeting the New Rural Area standards, 102 communes meeting the Advanced New Rural Area standards, 12 communes meeting the Model New Rural Area standards and 10 district-level units meeting the standards, completing the task of building the New Rural Area.

Concluding the meeting, Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha, Head of the Central Steering Committee for National Target Programs, emphasized: 2025 is the final year of the 5-year plan 2021 - 2025, so it is necessary to strengthen the steering committees of the 3 programs, focus on reviewing the targets and tasks of all 5 years to do better with the targets and targets that have been achieved and exceeded; Strengthen the direction and operation work to implement solutions to accelerate the allocation and disbursement of capital to implement national target programs. Along with that, summarize and evaluate the results of the targets on building new rural areas, sustainable poverty reduction, socio-economic development in ethnic minority and mountainous areas before June 30.
