Welcoming the high-ranking Cambodian delegation for celebrating with the Vietnamese people on this important day, General Secretary To Lam emphasized that the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification Day is a great historical event, a common victory of the three peoples of Vietnam - Cambodia - Laos; highly appreciating the valuable contributions of the late Cambodian King Norodom Sihanouk and Cambodia to the Vietnamese revolutionary cause, contributing to the historic victory of April 30, 1975; affirming that the Party, State and people of Vietnam attach special importance to and always give high priority to consolidating and developing the good neighborly relations, traditional friendship, comprehensive cooperation, long-term sustainability with the Cambodian People's Party, State and people of Cambodia. General Secretary To Lam thanked Cambodia for sending troops to participate in the parade at the April 30th Anniversary.

President of the Cambodian People's Party Hun Sen highly appreciated the profound significance of the Liberation Day of the South and National Reunification, demonstrating the strength of great solidarity, heroic spirit, and indomitable will of the Vietnamese people, under the wise leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam; emphasizing that the victory on April 30, 1975 is also a symbol of solidarity in fighting and sacrificing for each other among the three peoples of Cambodia, Vietnam, and Laos. Thanks to the victory on April 30, 1975, the Cambodian people defeated the Pol Pot genocidal regime, revived the country, helped Cambodia stabilize and continuously develop as it is today, creating a deeper connection between the two peoples, the two countries, and between the two countries' senior leaders. President of the Cambodian People's Party Hun Sen also expressed his admiration for the Communist Party of Vietnam, headed by General Secretary To Lam, for drastically implementing the work of streamlining the apparatus at all levels, considering these valuable experiences for Cambodia to study and apply. President of the Cambodian People's Party Hun Sen emphasized that Cambodia's sending of troops to participate in the parade during the April 30th Anniversary Celebration demonstrates solidarity and standing shoulder to shoulder in the fight to protect the independence of the two countries, and April 30th is also an extremely meaningful day for Cambodia as 26 years ago Cambodia joined ASEAN in Hanoi.

At the meeting, General Secretary To Lam and President of the Cambodian People's Party Hun Sen discussed the situation of each country, national development goals and issues of mutual concern; assessed the results of cooperation and agreed on key orientations to further deepen cooperation between the two Parties and countries in the coming time. General Secretary To Lam informed about the preparation for the 14th National Party Congress and socio-economic development goals, in parallel with the organization of the state apparatus, government agencies, localities, institutional and legal reforms, which were carried out urgently and received unanimous support from the people. General Secretary To Lam and President of the Cambodian People's Party Hun Sen expressed their joy at the important development achievements that the two countries have achieved in recent times; Acknowledging that the comprehensive and profound cooperation between the two Parties and two countries has been increasingly strengthened in all fields, actively contributing to economic and social development and enhancing the position and prestige of each country in the region and the world.

The two Leaders highly appreciated the positive development of the bilateral relationship in all fields in recent times; and emphasized that solidarity and mutual assistance between the two Parties and countries is an objective necessity, a vital law for the revolutionary cause, national construction and protection of each country, and a valuable asset of the two peoples, which needs to be preserved, promoted and passed on to future generations through stronger propaganda about the historical value, significance and strategic importance of the relationship between the two Parties and countries and the tradition of friendship, solidarity, closeness and mutual sacrifice between the two peoples.

The two leaders agreed to continue to further consolidate political relations, increase the exchange of high-level visits and contacts to orient the overall relationship between the two Parties and the two countries; focus on increasing political trust, strengthening connections between the young generations of the two countries to inherit and further promote the tradition of solidarity and close ties between the two countries; effectively implement the conclusions of the meeting between the Politburo of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam and the Standing Committee of the Central Committee of the CPP and the meeting between the three leaders of the three parties of Vietnam - Cambodia - Laos (February 2025); actively promote the connection of the two economies, in which the two sides have just signed a trade agreement for the 2025-2026 period, believing that the trade turnover will soon reach 20 billion USD, consolidating substantive cooperation in trade and investment, especially in the context of many complicated developments in the world economic situation.

The two leaders agreed to continue to strengthen close cooperation in the fields of defense - security, education - training, culture, tourism, health, etc. commensurate with the potential and strengths of each country and the relationship between the two Parties and the two countries, while at the same time effectively enhancing the relationship between the agencies of the Party, the National Assembly, the ministries and branches of the Government, the Fatherland Front, people's organizations and localities of the two countries, creating a strong mark in the relationship between the two countries in the new development stage, serving the practical interests of the people of the two countries.

On this occasion, the two leaders informed about the foreign activities of the two countries and exchanged views on the world and regional situations of mutual concern.

General Secretary To Lam respectfully invited President of the Cambodian People's Party Hun Sen to attend the 80th Anniversary of Vietnam's National Day in Hanoi in September 2025. President of the Cambodian People's Party Hun Sen happily accepted the invitation.
