This morning, January 23, leaders of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development inspected the 2023-2024 winter-spring rice production situation in the communes of Cam Hieu (Cam Lo district), Gio Chau (Gio Linh district) and Vinh Lam (Vinh Linh district).

A quick report at the inspection said that by January 22, 2024, the whole province had completed planting 25,000 hectares of winter-spring rice production area for the 2023-2024 crop, reaching 98% of the plan. Through field inspection and reports from localities, the early sown area is at the 3-4 leaf tillering stage, the remaining area is at the 2-3 leaf spike stage, the rice plants are growing well.

Taking advantage of favorable weather, local farmers are speeding up the planting of vegetables and caring for and fertilizing the first rice fields.

In the 2023-2024 winter-spring crop, the agricultural sector will continue to work with businesses to link production and consumption of 1,300 hectares of organic rice, VietGap, rice seeds, and commercial rice.

The leader of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development said that in order to direct the successful production of the 2023-2024 winter-spring crop in the face of unusual weather developments, the department actively coordinated with localities to organize the implementation of Plan No. 6803/PA-UBND dated December 22, 2024 of the Provincial People's Committee on organizing agricultural production in 2024.

Strengthen inspection and grasp the growth and development of crops, especially early-sown rice areas, sown before and after the crop schedule, promptly direct solutions to respond to natural disasters and epidemics...

Focus on inspection of agricultural materials in the area to control the quality and price of agricultural materials for the 2023-2024 winter-spring crop production.

At the same time, continue to accompany and invite organizations, individuals and businesses inside and outside the province to support the linkage of agricultural production in the area with processing and consumption of products.
