The Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism (the standing agency of the Provincial Council) has issued a Plan and advised the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee to issue Decision No. 2008/QD-UBND dated December 19, 2024 on the establishment of the Council for considering and awarding the titles of "People's Artisan" and "Meritorious Artisan" in the field of intangible cultural heritage of Bac Giang province for the fourth time.

From January 2, 2025 to January 8, 2025, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism received 73 applications for consideration, of which 71 were valid (including 07 applications for consideration for the title "People's Artist", 65 applications for consideration for the title "Meritorious Artist"). Some heritages with many individuals with application documents include: Quan Ho, Cheo, ethnic minority folk songs. Some applications belong to heritages that have not been included in previous selection rounds such as: Ca Tru, embroidery, and Do paper making. Viet Yen is the locality with the most individuals with applications (29 applications).

From January 13, 2025 to February 20, 2025, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism coordinated with localities to collect opinions from the residential community where individuals with application files for consideration of award reside according to regulations. The collection of community opinions was carried out objectively, seriously and received the attention of the majority of people. All applications achieved a rate of 100% of the residential community agreeing to the proposal for consideration of award.

On February 25, 2025, the Provincial Council held a meeting and voted to select 27/71 outstanding individuals to submit to the Ministry-level Specialized Council, including 02 personal profiles proposed for consideration for the title "People's Artisan"; 25 personal profiles proposed for consideration for the title "Meritorious Artisan".

According to regulations, the awarding of the titles of “People’s Artisan” and “Meritorious Artisan” is carried out through 3 council levels (Provincial Council, Ministry-level Specialized Council, State-level Council). It is expected that the President will sign the decisions to award the titles to artisans in November 2025.
