The number of unemployed people nationwide has decreased, but which industries need a lot of workers?

According to the recently released labor market bulletin for the third quarter of 2024, the Ministry of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs said that the country has 51.6 million employed people, an increase of more than 114,000 people compared to the previous quarter. However, there are still more than 1 million unemployed people. Compared to the previous quarter, the number of unemployed people decreased by more than 22,000 people.

The youth unemployment rate is at 7.75%. The urban unemployment rate is nearly 2.3%. The number of trained workers with certificates and degrees is 28.5%.

According to the news, the majority of people applying for unemployment benefits do not have degrees or certificates (accounting for more than 60%), followed by university, college, and intermediate levels...

In the third quarter of 2024, more than 243,000 people filed for unemployment benefits, a decrease of more than 91,000 people compared to the previous quarter.

The industries receiving the largest unemployment benefits are processing and manufacturing (46%), services (nearly 30%), construction (2.6%)...

Specifically by occupational group, tailors, embroiderers and related workers received the highest unemployment benefits (22.6%), followed by assemblers (7.5%), sales staff (3.6%), accountants (3.1%), and messengers and delivery people (2.5%).

The Ministry of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs added that the five industries with the largest recruitment needs this quarter are wholesale, real estate business, financial services, rail and road transport, education and training.

Recently, the Ho Chi Minh City Traffic Safety Committee coordinated with the National Traffic Safety Committee, the Ministry of Education and Training and other units to organize the giving of helmets to many students in Ho Chi Minh City.

Mr. Nguyen Thanh Loi - Deputy Head of the Traffic Safety Committee of Ho Chi Minh City - said that the rate of children (6-15 years old) wearing helmets in Ho Chi Minh City has increased from 40% (in 2017) to 75% at this time.

In the 2024-2025 school year, Ho Chi Minh City and many other provinces and cities will continue to give helmets to all students entering grade 1.

In Ho Chi Minh City alone, 120,465 students were given helmets to remind students and parents to wear helmets for their children when participating in traffic.

According to Mr. Loi, recently Ho Chi Minh City has implemented many practical solutions and activities to enhance traffic safety for school-age children.

In the coming time, the Traffic Safety Committee of Ho Chi Minh City will continue to raise awareness of wearing helmets for people riding motorbikes, electric bicycles, etc. Especially, children and students must use standard helmets properly.

"The authorities will strictly handle violations and improve traffic safety in front of the school gate and surrounding areas," said Mr. Loi.

During the discussion session, members of the Government, Chief Justice of the Supreme People's Court, Chief Prosecutor of the Supreme People's Procuracy and relevant agencies and individuals explained and clarified a number of issues raised by National Assembly deputies.

From 4:15 p.m. the same day, the National Assembly will vote to pass the Law on Notarization (amended). Vote to pass the Law on Urban and Rural Planning.

In addition, the National Assembly also voted to pass the Law on Value Added Tax (amended). In particular, the National Assembly will finalize the content of the proposal to include fertilizers in the 5% VAT category, decide on the content related to the annual revenue threshold that is not subject to VAT, etc.

According to Mr. Le Duc Luan - Deputy Minister of Health, currently 92.4% of commune health stations in Vietnam have doctors working; 99.6% of communes, wards and towns have health stations, the capacity and quality of medical services provided at the facility are increasing.
