Senior Lieutenant General Pham Truong Son attended and directed the 8th Congress of the Party Committee of the 18th Army Corps.

In the 2020-2025 term, the Party Committee of Corps 18 focused on leading and directing the Corps to complete the goals, tasks, and solutions set forth in the Resolution of the 7th Corps Party Congress.

In the coming term, the congress determined to continue building the Party Committee of Corps 18 to be comprehensively strong, "exemplary and typical"; from 2025, to build a revolutionary, disciplined, elite and modern Corps; from 2030, to aim to build the Corps into a strong aviation transport group in the region.

The leaders arrange, innovate and improve the operational efficiency of the Corporation; conduct production and business in the right direction, in accordance with the law, achieving high economic efficiency and healthy finances; maintain the position as a leading defense and security enterprise in providing helicopter services domestically and regionally. Improve the capacity, legality and commercialization of training services, training pilots and aviation technicians; continue to build a high-quality human resource for common use to meet mission requirements.

Speaking at the congress, Senior Lieutenant General Pham Truong Son acknowledged and commended the efforts and outstanding achievements that the Party Committee of Army Corps 18 had achieved in the past term.

Senior Lieutenant General Pham Truong Son emphasized that in the coming years, the world and regional situation will change rapidly, complicatedly, and unpredictably. Military and defense missions will require increasingly high demands; competition for helicopter services in the region will be fierce.

Therefore, Senior Lieutenant General Pham Truong Son requested the Party Committee of the 18th Corps to continue to thoroughly grasp and strictly implement the resolutions and directives of the superiors, especially the Party's guidelines on combining economic development with strengthening national defense and security. Leaders must successfully complete military and defense tasks, ensure absolute secrecy and safety in performing tasks; strictly maintain the combat readiness regime, regularly ensure good forces, aircraft, and technical equipment; effectively perform the tasks of flying special aircraft, transporting, rescuing, searching and rescuing, and providing medical emergency services; closely combine commercial flights with reconnaissance flights, affirming the sovereignty of the sea and islands of the Fatherland.
