(Dan Tri) - As Lunar New Year approaches, both sides of Hai Thuong Lan Ong Street (District 5, Ho Chi Minh City) seem to have "changed clothes" with thousands of Tet decoration products for sale, and people come to buy busily.
These days, hundreds of small traders on both sides of Hai Thuong Lan Ong Street (District 5, Ho Chi Minh City) display a huge variety of Tet decorations in red and yellow, symbolizing a lucky and prosperous new year and a prosperous family. Traditional Tet decorations such as lanterns, lucky money envelopes, red parallel sentences, banh chung, fake watermelons... are sold all over the streets to serve people's Tet shopping needs with prices ranging from 20,000 VND to several hundred thousand VND/item. Thousands of delicately and beautifully made products are displayed densely, attracting many people passing by Hai Thuong Lan Ong Street, who are attracted by the Tet decorations and immediately pull over to choose and buy. The Year of the Snake 2025 has many images of lucky snakes appearing everywhere on decorative items. The snake mascot of the year has countless cute and funny designs in yellow or red colors representing luck. According to Dan Tri reporters, the prices of items here have not increased compared to previous years. Apricot and peach branches cost from 10,000 to 15,000 VND/branch; decorative firecracker strings cost about 120,000 VND/string. Lucky money envelopes sold at the Tet goods street have many diverse designs, from popular to high-end, priced from 10,000 to 50,000 VND/set. In addition to mass-produced Tet decoration items imported from Vietnam and China, small traders also hand-make many high-value handmade products worth up to 500,000 VND for customers to freely choose from. "After work, I stop by here to buy Tet decorations for my family. Every time this happens, I feel excited and eager to buy things to decorate my house. I see that every year the stalls sell many beautiful items but the prices are very affordable," said Mr. Minh Nghia (50 years old). "I came here to buy some Tet hanging strings to decorate the apricot branches in my house this Spring. The prices here are quite reasonable. The atmosphere on the bustling street makes me feel that Tet is very close," said Ms. Nguyen Thi Hoa (53 years old). Not only do people come to shop, but many young people also come to visit and take pictures, creating a bustling atmosphere here. The atmosphere on Hai Thuong Lan Ong Street makes people feel like they are celebrating Tet earlier than any other area of the city. The atmosphere on this street is bustling from early morning until late at night. As the afternoon goes on, more and more people flock to the Tet shopping street. Hai Thuong Lan Ong Street, more than 500m long, sells many decorative products from 6am to 10pm on days close to Tet, serving people's need to shop for home decoration during Tet.
