Goalkeeper Bui Tien Dung faces difficulties against overseas Vietnamese star Filip Nguyen

Overseas Vietnamese goalkeeper Filip Nguyen has posted a cryptic message that he will leave Slovacko Club (Czech Republic national championship). Accordingly, there are many speculations that the goalkeeper born in 1992 will return to V-League to join Hanoi Police Club. Filip Nguyen is even said to have reached an agreement with the new V-League team but it has not been officially announced. However, if the above deal becomes true, goalkeeper Bui Tien Dung will certainly face many difficulties in competing for a position at Hanoi Police Club.

Bui Tien Dung joined the Hanoi Police Club since the beginning of the 2023 season, amid a wave of shopping sprees by the ambitious rookie V-League team. Coming to the new team, the goalkeeper born in 1997 has taken the position of "goalkeeper" number 1 when he started in the first 3 rounds of V-League 2023.

However, since the appearance of Patrik Le Giang, Bui Tien Dung lost his starting position to the overseas Vietnamese goalkeeper. That also marked the period when Tien Dung had to get used to the bench and was not even registered in the competition list. Since round 4 of V-League 2024, the goalkeeper from Thanh Hoa has not played a single minute.

If Filip Nguyen joins the Hanoi Police Club, this Vietnamese-American goalkeeper will likely take the priority position in the second phase. The new V-League team needs a top-class stopper so that they can maintain their advantage in the rankings and aim for the championship. In that context, the possibility of Bui Tien Dung playing, which is already very low, will become even more uncertain.
