The ugly images of young men competing for seats with veterans on the night of April 29 are spreading on social media.

Dr. Nguyen Quoc Anh - Vice President of HUTECH commented: “This incident is a serious warning about public behavior, especially in sacred spaces and moments associated with national traditions. The school will handle it in accordance with current regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training, and at the same time apply appropriate educational measures so that students have the opportunity to correct their mistakes, mature, and become more responsible people towards the community and the country.”

As Tien Phong reported, on the evening of April 29, while waiting for the parade "celebrating the 50th anniversary of the liberation of the South and the reunification of the country", a video appeared on social media showing a group of young people shouting at veterans while waiting in line for the ceremony. The clip immediately went viral at a dizzying speed in the early morning of April 30 and attracted more than 2 million views and thousands of shares.

Below the video, many accounts commented indignantly, saying that the group of young people had behaved disrespectfully towards adults and should be condemned. Among them, there was a young man who was said to be a student at Van Lang University.

Immediately afterwards, Van Lang University held a meeting to find a solution to deal with the male student and also spoke out about the incident on its fanpage, disagreeing with the substandard behavior of an individual student, negatively affecting the overall positive image of the student community and not representing Van Lang University.

The student later posted an apology on social media, but did not receive much forgiveness from the online community.
