On the morning of March 15, Ho Chi Minh City National University and Synopsys Technology Corporation (USA) signed a cooperation agreement to enhance training and research capacity in the field of microchip design at Ho Chi Minh City National University.

Accordingly, Synopsys shares training curriculum and licenses chip design toolkits and software for students of Ho Chi Minh City National University.

Synopsys accepts students for internships and introduces jobs for microchip design engineers trained at Ho Chi Minh City National University to domestic and foreign enterprises.

Synopsys supports the development of young instructors in the field of IC design through the short-term training program "Train-the-Trainer".

Lecturers from Ho Chi Minh City National University will work at Synopsys for 4 months to gain practical knowledge.

The two sides will cooperate to develop the Semiconductor Research Institute of Ho Chi Minh City National University into a place to provide training and research equipment for shared use by universities and startups.

According to Associate Professor Dr. Vu Hai Quan - Director of Ho Chi Minh City National University, to develop high-quality human resources for the semiconductor industry in Vietnam, many challenges need to be solved.

"To overcome the challenges, Ho Chi Minh City National University and Synopsys have discussed and determined to jointly implement specific solutions in developing international-level human resources in the field of chip design," said Mr. Quan.

The cooperation with Synopsys is expected to help Ho Chi Minh City National University train about 1,800 highly qualified engineers in the field of microchip design between now and 2030.

Also this year, Ho Chi Minh City National University will open new and enroll students to train in microchip design and semiconductor technology at three schools: University of Technology, University of Natural Sciences , and University of Information Technology.
