Recently, the weather situation in some localities has been complicated; prolonged heavy rains have caused landslides and collapses of construction works in some localities, causing damage to people and property.
Therefore, to proactively prevent and minimize damage, ensure safety for people and property, the Department of Construction recommends that units using and managing works that have been put into operation organize zoning of areas at risk of landslides and building collapse; pay special attention to talus items, slopes, anti-landslide embankments, works on steep slopes, areas with high negative/positive slope differences, areas with weak geology; immediately implement measures to reinforce, cover, drain, ensure safety of works and surrounding areas.
The Department of Construction requires units and investors to strengthen response to the risk of landslides and building collapse. |
The investor and units participating in construction activities urgently inspect and evaluate the current status of the entire construction project to determine the appropriate dangerous areas on the construction site and surrounding areas; thereby providing solutions for the construction team to ensure labor safety.
Units need to arrange warning devices for dangerous areas at locations at risk of landslides and construction collapses; closely monitor weather developments, proactively plan to evacuate households in affected areas to safe places; regularly organize forces to be on duty at construction sites during bad weather and heavy rain; arrange forces and means ready to promptly handle incidents.
When investors, construction contractors, and construction supervision consultants discover dangerous factors affecting safety during construction, they must resolutely suspend construction, organize remediation, and adjust construction measures appropriately to ensure safety.
