At the beginning of the reenactment of the ritual, an elder read a proclamation about the country's chaotic situation, the Qing invaders' invasion, and the need for a wise king to save the country. King Quang Trung ascended the throne "in response to the mandate of heaven and the will of the people". Then there was a scene of the king commanding the Tay Son soldiers to practice, then giving the order to march north to defeat 200,000 Qing troops, liberating Thang Long citadel on the occasion of the Ky Dau New Year (1789).

The coronation ceremony was first reenacted in 2008 at Ban Mountain after the Quang Trung King statue was completed. Since then, every year on the 25th day of the 11th lunar month, the Hue City government has organized an incense offering ceremony to pay tribute and commemorate the national hero Nguyen Hue - Quang Trung.

With an active, rapid, unexpected, and daring fighting style, on the night of the 30th of Tet Ky Dau, he and the Tay Son army launched a stormy attack on the enemy's fortified positions.

At dawn on the 5th day of Tet (January 30, 1789), the Tay Son army launched a general attack on Ngoc Hoi - Dong Da fort, liberated Thang Long citadel, defeated the Qing Dynasty's invasion war, and regained independence for the nation.
