According to the World Health Organization (WHO), this theme was chosen to raise awareness of the rights of everyone, everywhere to access quality health services, education and information, as well as safe drinking water, clean air, good nutrition, decent working and environmental conditions…

WHO says at least 140 countries recognise health as a human right in their constitutions. However, at least 4.5 billion people – more than half the world’s population – lack access to essential health services (2021).

WHO recommends that countries implement the following solutions: provide health services that are available, accessible, acceptable and of good quality to everyone, everywhere; have a strategy and build from the basics such as: reorienting health systems with primary health care issues. Everyone understands their right to health; receives safe and quality care, without any discrimination; has the right to privacy and confidentiality of health information; has the right to autonomy and bodily integrity; makes decisions about their own health.
