According to the People's Committee of Son Ha District, this is a newly discovered landslide. At the scene of the Mang Ka Muong landslide, the inspection team discovered that the landslide had 60 m long cracks in the ground, the deepest subsidence was about 2 m.

At the foot of Mang Ka Muong mountain, the inspection team found that soil and rocks had slid down on the 2-year-old acacia plantation of local households. This landslide showed the risk of landslides occurring at any time.

Make a plan to evacuate people urgently when there is heavy rain for a long time.

Mr. Phan Anh Quang, Vice Chairman of Son Ha District People's Committee, said that he and his delegation went to inspect the landslide. The deepest part of the landslide was so deep that when climbing down, it hid people's heads. According to Mr. Quang, this landslide occurred when thunderstorms appeared in the afternoon in the past few days in the area. If it rains continuously for a few days, this landslide will develop unpredictably.

In addition, the landslide also threatens to block the DH77 extension route to Nuoc Trong reservoir, affecting the lives of 80 households in Mang Ka Muong hamlet, Nuoc Trong Hydropower Plant, the operator of Irrigation Management Station No. 7, and Son Bao Primary School.

Mr. Quang said that the teacher and 27 kindergarten students have been evacuated from the school and are being taught elsewhere to avoid landslides on Mang Ka Muong mountain. Son Bao commune will closely monitor the houses at the foot of the mountain and, when heavy and prolonged rains occur, will evacuate people from their homes to safe shelters.

In addition, Son Bao Commune People's Committee also organized the erection of danger warning signs, B40 mesh fences to limit large rocks from rolling onto the road and widely informed local people to avoid danger.
