According to information from the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, in 5 days (from April 30 to May 4), the whole province welcomed over 1.1 million tourists, reaching 112% over the same period in 2024.

Of which, the total number of guests staying reached nearly 500,000. International visitors are estimated at 102,000. Total tourism revenue is estimated at VND3,121 billion. This revenue is 1.4 times higher than the same period in 2024, helping Quang Ninh get closer to the tourism industry's target of VND55,000 billion in 2025.

During the April 30 - May 1 holiday, the province organized 40 tourism, cultural, artistic and sports activities and events, including 3 provincial-level activities and 37 district-level, commune-level and ward-level activities. The highlight was the Ha Long Carnival 2025 with the theme "Connecting Heritage - Pioneering Shining" held on May 1 at Bai Chay, Ha Long City. This is one of the special events in the series of activities of Ha Long Summer Tourism Week 2025; attracting tens of thousands of people and tourists.

In addition, the OCOP Fair in the Red River Delta - Quang Ninh 2025 taking place from April 29 to May 4 with a scale of over 250 booths inside and outside the province is also an annual trade promotion activity, not only contributing to stimulating consumption, supporting the promotion of local brands but also being an effective bridge between producers and consumers, promoting economic development.

With a series of attractive and unique events, the number of tourists to the localities also increased sharply. Of which, Ha Long City welcomed nearly 651,000 visitors; Mong Cai City welcomed 280,000 visitors; Uong Bi City welcomed over 112,600 visitors; Van Don District welcomed nearly 120,000 visitors; Co To District welcomed about 34,000 visitors....

In addition, tourist attractions in the province continued to affirm their attraction with the number of visitors increasing 2-3 times compared to normal days. Ha Long Bay welcomed 98,400 arrivals, including 33,000 international visitors; Sun World Park welcomed nearly 55,000 arrivals; Quang Ninh Museum welcomed nearly 41,400 arrivals, Yen Tu Special National Relic Site welcomed about 15,300 arrivals, and nearly 26,000 international visitors entering through Mong Cai border gate...

During this time, the room occupancy rate at 4-5 star and equivalent tourist accommodation facilities reached about 90-95%, other accommodation facilities reached about 70-80%. Particularly on April 30 - May 2, some localities had room occupancy rates of 90-95% such as: Co To, Quan Lan, Minh Chau. Accommodation ships on Ha Long Bay had occupancy rates of 90-95%.

During the holiday, Quang Ninh welcomed 3 international cruise ships. Notably, on April 30, 2025, the Pacific World cruise ship docked at Ha Long port for the first time, bringing more than 1,700 high-end tourists from Japan to Quang Ninh. Tourists experienced tours to visit Ha Long Bay, city tours to visit Ha Long city, and Yen Duc village.

To ensure that tourists have a safe and convenient holiday, the Provincial People's Committee has issued a series of documents directing the strengthening of inspection and supervision of tourism business conditions and environment. In particular, accommodation establishments are required to improve service quality, ensure environmental hygiene and food hygiene and safety. Tourist areas and spots with water entertainment services and tourist transport vehicles must seriously implement solutions to ensure security and safety for tourists. Tourism businesses must strictly implement regulations on registration and public posting of prices of goods and services.
