According to the field inspection report of the Department of Natural Resources and Environment, the coastal area from Lien Hai village, Hai Thuong commune to Thanh Son village, Nghi Son commune has a length of 2,448m; the East coast of Nghi Son island, Nghi Son commune has a coastline of 4,791m, which is included in the List of areas requiring the establishment of a coastal protection corridor in Thanh Hoa province announced in Decision No. 797/QD-UBND dated March 2, 2022 of the Provincial People's Committee.

Official Dispatch No. 16425/UBND-NN dated October 31, 2023 on the policy of adjusting the area to establish a coastal protection corridor in Nghi Son town, the Provincial People's Committee agrees with the proposal of the Department of Natural Resources and Environment in Official Dispatch No. 8740/STNMT-BHĐ dated September 20, 2023, Official Dispatch No. 2818/BQLKKTNS&KCN-QLQH dated August 23, 2023 of the Management Board of Nghi Son Economic Zone and Industrial Parks, opinions of relevant units, removing 2 coastal areas from Lien Hai village, Hai Thuong commune to Thanh Son village, Nghi Son commune and the East coast of Nghi Son island, Nghi Son commune from the List of areas required to establish a coastal protection corridor in Thanh Hoa province in Decision No. 797/QD-UBND dated March 2, 2022.

In order to implement the above dispatch, the Department of Natural Resources and Environment has implemented the procedures to adjust Decision No. 797/QD-UBND dated March 2, 2022 of the Provincial People's Committee in accordance with the provisions of law. At the same time, the Department has presided over and coordinated with relevant units to conduct field inspections and organize conferences to solicit opinions from relevant units.

Area proposed for category adjustment.

Directing at the field, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Le Duc Giang emphasized: Based on the actual situation of the locality, to ensure scientific, objective, and harmonious requirements between protection and development, relevant departments and branches should study the current status of exploitation and use of resources in coastal areas; preserve and promote cultural heritage values; ensure feasibility, and suitability with socio-economic development requirements...

The Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee also agreed with the proposal of the departments and branches to remove the two coastal areas from Lien Hai village, Hai Thuong commune to Thanh Son village, Nghi Son commune and the East coast of Nghi Son island, Nghi Son commune from the List of areas that must establish a coastal protection corridor in Thanh Hoa province.

At the same time, the Department of Natural Resources and Environment is requested to synthesize opinions, complete the procedures for adjusting Decision No. 797/QD-UBND, dated March 2, 2022 of the Provincial People's Committee according to the provisions of law. Thereby, it will serve as a basis for the Management Board of Nghi Son Economic Zone and Industrial Parks, Nghi Son Town People's Committee to carry out the next steps in the process of adjusting the planning of the projects: Ngoc Island Eco-resort and tourist accommodation; Detailed construction planning at a scale of 1/500 of the Residential area of ​​the rescue and relief road on Nghi Son Island; Nghi Son Island Eco-tourism project...
