On Luong Lychee Sticky Rice Agricultural Cooperative, On Luong Commune (Phu Luong) was established in 2020 with 9 members, the main product is Lychee Sticky Rice which has been granted 4-star OCOP certification. In addition, the Cooperative also produces traditional cakes such as Chung cake, Day cake, Gai cake... according to customer orders.

To proactively source raw materials for production, the cooperative has cooperated with 100 households in Ban Dong hamlet to build a raw material area, with a total area of 16.5 hectares. Ms. Hoang Thi Hong Tu, Director of On Luong Lychee Sticky Rice Agricultural Cooperative, said: The entire process from selecting seeds, planting, caring for and harvesting rice is strictly controlled by the cooperative. During the cultivation process, people must apply VietGAP standards and organic orientation, in order to create safe, high-quality products.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Nhung, in Quang Trung Ward (Thai Nguyen City) : I often choose to buy rice from On Luong sticky rice agricultural cooperative because the product has a clear origin. This type of rice is very suitable for cooking sticky rice and making traditional cakes. When cooked, the aroma spreads right from the time the water boils, the rice grains are soft and sticky, when eaten, you can feel the sweetness and characteristic richness.

Previously, the tea production facility of Ms. Duong Thi Chang, Ba Qua hamlet, Van Han commune (Dong Hy) had to import raw materials from households in the commune. This caused many difficulties for the facility due to lack of initiative in raw materials, uneven product quality and increased production costs due to having to buy through intermediaries.

With the planning of raw material areas, Van Han Tea Cooperative (Dong Hy) can easily implement technical advances in production, contributing to improving productivity and product quality.
With the planning of raw material areas, Van Han Tea Cooperative (Dong Hy) can easily implement technical advances in production, contributing to improving productivity and product quality.

To overcome this situation, in 2019, when establishing Van Han Tea Cooperative, Ms. Chang decided to build her own raw material area with an area of 6 hectares. Thanks to that, the Cooperative not only takes the initiative in raw material sources but also improves product quality.

Ms. Duong Thi Chang: The cooperative coordinates with specialized agencies to convert tea production according to VietGAP standards to organic farming. By the end of 2024, the cooperative's tea products will be certified organic, helping to double the value of the product compared to before. Currently, the cooperative's dried tea buds are sold at 500-600 thousand VND/kg.

According to statistics, the province currently has 541 cooperatives operating in the agricultural sector. During their operations, many cooperatives have paid special attention to building raw material areas. Because raw material areas are an important source of input for production, a decisive factor for product quality, competitiveness and long-term stability. In addition, this is also one of the top criteria for building OCOP products of each cooperative.

Ms. Vu Thi Thu Huong, Vice President of the Provincial Cooperative Union, said: Building and developing raw material areas for cooperatives is extremely necessary. Therefore, in recent times, along with the efforts of cooperatives, the functional sectors and localities in the province have had policies to support the building of raw material areas, such as: Support for seeds, fertilizers; capital and preferential policies; organizing training courses on raw material area management...

With the advantages of land and farming experience, the development of high-quality raw material areas not only helps cooperatives to be proactive in production but also contributes to affirming the quality and brand of agricultural products. Thereby, opening up export opportunities, promoting the sustainable development of the province's agriculture.
